what we need is a x that can cope with all weather condition good brain good feet and structure made for winter which is when our dogs work most but I can't think of one;)

All I am saying is weather conditions do mate a difference and a dewy night normally means very few rabbits agree?

Wouldn't say I killed a lot just killed enough to get a pup going been out on ground and still plenty about so not much harm done ATB.

You have got to be sensible and don't force but let them do what they are capable of.

no but some people think there is because the lad I went out with couple of nights ago believed not to get them out till a least 12 months of age but he couldn't believe how my pup was working at under 8 months. Might not work for all types but I've listened to a chap who has had dogs for years and glad I did because he's doing well and I've had all the fun of watching him learn as a pup I think it easer to talk and teach them at that age rather than trying to start at a later stage. When I go out now I hardly say two words to him all night.

My two brothers do a lot of shooting and I do as much as I can't but I get all the game they are not interested in the meat just the shooting I had to get a big chest freezer last winter because my wife had no room for nothing else with the small freezer we had in the kitchen. Any wild meat is great tasting and got to be so much better for you.

He runs a malamute greyhound that's how I come to have one my self as soon as I see his dog work I wanted one.

My pup will be 8 months old on the 4th of next month he's now 27.5 tts catching rabbits and jumping well had him out with working dogs as soon as he'd had his jabs so he was doing a lot of miles and seen a lot killed by the time he was ready to start him self he knew his job straight away. Went out with a mate of mine who had a 12 month old collie x greyhound / deerhound x greyhound. And I would say my pup was well infront on jumping and knowledge of game than his dog but only because of the hours I've put in my mate doesn't believe in getting them working before 12 months because of bone prob

there is a welder fabricator in mid Wales makes any panel any size I've just bought two panels off him really tidy and they are 25mm box and solid round bar and galvanised. I can pm you details if this helps and not to far for you. ATB Earlystart.
