  1. not sure where i should have put this but... i want to start rabbiting next year (or whenever my shooting is accurate enough!) but until then i need to practice on targets. i live in the country, surrounded by farmers fields which often have livestock in them but i have a very long garden, long enough to practice 20-40 yard shots. my question is: is there some kind of netting/ boards i can use to stop pellets should i miss the target? i plan to get a pellet catcher, but want to be safe if i miss them. alternatively, as i plan to ask the farmers if i can hunt their land shou
  2. this is a good suggestion, i would like to go out on a hunt to see how its done. i am in west cumbria... any offers?
  3. thanks for all the replies. tegater, you would gut them then hang them over your shoulders? (or from a belt i assume would be ok?) i have cooked rabbit from a butcher that i think wasnt gutted soon enough, the smell was disgusting, but i want to eat stuff i have hunted without the fear of being that bad.
  4. Trying to learn as much as possible about rabbits and hunting before heading out into the field. still got a long way to go before taking on live game but i was wondering, people say to gut the rabbit as soon as possible if youre gonna eat it, so if you field dress it where do you put the rabbit, is it ok to go straight in the game bag, or do you put it in a cooler or what? i know this probably is so obvious to everyone who is experienced.. but i have no idea.
  5. i just bought a bsa lightning air rifle to use for rabbiting, what pellets would you recommend? i was told dome-headed are best for rabbits...
  6. i possibly have a few acres to hunt courtesy of the farmers in my neighbourhood but i would like to accompany someone on their hunt as I am completely new to hunting. If you are airgun hunting rabbits could my friend and I join you for a couple hours?
  7. Hi all, I am new to the site and new to hunting. This year me and a friend are going to be taking up rabbiting in the country around us (once permission is granted!) So, tips on rabbiting and field dressing would be very much appreciated, also if anyone has advice on a decent budget airgun I would appreciate it. Claire and Charlie
