  1. After all the positive reviews, I'm thinking BSA ultra. What's the connection into the cylinder? If it's standard Schrader (car tyre) would I be able to keep it topped up with my Mountain bike shock pump, which is good for more than 200psi and easily pocketable?
  2. The bunnies round here seem to let me get closer when I'm wearing a bright orange site hat and a 3/4 length yellow hi viz coat. I'm guessing they don't recognise me as human in this get up They'll learn
  3. Thanks Lurcherman, I'm off to the shops this weekend to try a couple out
  4. Hi Pablo, it sounds like the piston head might be dodgy and letting small amounts of grease through. Maybe fit new head and start from scratch with the greaseing....hope this helps. Anyone want to buy a 97k Hi Darcy would a V-mach tune address the issues you've highlighted, I'm a bit green when it comes to the internals (that makes me sound like a virgin ) Thanks Pab
  5. Usually it's "nay too bad" But you know the situation, you think you've got a shot, but the bunny nips to cover, now the gun is loaded and when 10minutes later I take a shot my 97k sounds like crap and diesels. Is this normal, and will a 177 200Hc give me the same grief? If it's a problem inherent with springers then maybe I should look at an evolution to compliment my Fenman
  6. Using my net suit, I had wrens running up and down my back and landing on my hat in a dutch barn a couple of times - amazing! What a gift from nature. Wrens are my favourite bird. (other than the large breasted nubile variety of course). D. I went out with a girl called Ren for a while, 4'10" .....smart and smutty.....Gawd damn it...The one that got away
  7. Having never hunted with 177 I can only talk about 22. Zero your scope @ 35yrds. For a target @ 20yrds aim for the base of the skull, 40/45yrds aim for the ears much further than that with a 12ft .22 gun is not really on. but for hedgerow hugging standing quick shots a 22 carbine is the way to go....But I've got the urge for a full length 177 for a bit of HFT and to plink the cheeky buggers who think they're safe on the other side of the paddock
  8. It's a bit like comparing shit with champagne Check your local gun shop, see what they have on the part ex rack. If it's a good shop the guns will be checked over and may even come with a short warranty. Always better to try before you buy In your price range an old Weihrauch or BSA look a good bet. Find yourself a tidy Lightning (Birmingham made) and when funds permit fit a gasram ,very tidy, almost a Fenman , which is the best break barrel I've ever shot Following on from the above analogy, Champagne gets better with age and shit.......
  9. I've got to find a shop that has the AA's in stock so I can at least try them up against my shoulder, preferably I'd like to fire them a couple of times as well One place I've spoken to has .22s in stock, but I'm thinking 177. Do they behave differently when fired than .22s ??
  10. Bought an early one of these for £250,needed a stock refurb but what a lovely bit of wood, guns not bad either, standing headshot on a bunny this evening at a good 35yrds :-) I've half a mind to get an Evo carbine in 177 to partner it, are they not so good then?
  11. I've a .22 97k, pellet on pellet @35yrds , can't complain...can't love it either I'm looking over the fence at the green grass, and on that grass is a new model, much like the old girl, but a bit younger, a bit more petite, a bit (but not to much) slimmer, a bit more curvy..."you know" I'm thinking Walnut 200HC in 177.... Do I do it??
  12. Air Arms or Theoben?? I could just tune the 97K, but," I dunno", I just can't love that gun for some reason, pellet on pellet @ 35yrds I shouldn't complain but "I dunno" Even been thinking about .177,,, Just to see,,if you know what I mean Walnut HC in .177...Good idea???
  13. Thanks for the welcomes, I've found a thread on here called Thai Girls, very funny with plenty of sound advice and pics attached, Brilliant!!
