a fox attacked kids in there sleep in the own bedroom yet it wont take a lamb in its own back yard sorry mate but ive seen dead ewe`s with their faces eaten off overnight.im not saying your not telling the the truth but perhaps the foxs in your area have a healthy food supply elswhere but what would happen if that food sorce dried up. a fox is opportunist scavanger and will take what it can when it canInvest in a good fox trap

Use your brain......dont post shit like this!!!!! Totally irrisponsible. Never mind the legallities. If you relocate them your just passing the problem onto somebody else to deal with. Foxes dont live on thin air. There will be a keeper somewhere nearby who doesnt want his pheasants killed. There will be a farmer somewhere nearby who doesnt want his sheep killed. There will be a kid somewhere who doesnt want to go up the garden one morning to find his pet rabbit scattered all over the place. Use your f*****g brain indeed!! Jesus!
foxes are wild animals they are not f*****g pet dogs they will find a food source and another foxes can NOT take down a sheep you clearly dont know what you are talking about that is a myth that foxes take sheep if you had any understanding of the fox or even seen one you would know that is bollocks they make pick up a DEAD lamb but no way could they take down a sheep you moron and also, as part of esponsible stockmanship you would keep your animals stock proof, to prevent a fox from getting in to any livestock that he would be capable of killing. USE YOUR BRAIN and come back when you know what you are talking about
Have you ever been out the house, you certainly spout some p*sh.
Foxes definately take healthy as well as sickly lambs.

I have farmed sheep for over 7 years and delivered thousands of lambs and even tho there is a very healthy fox population on our 600 acres I have never once encontered a live lamb taken by a fox. it is a load of bollocks. foxes will take dead lambs but they will not take live ones and as for a fox taking down a full grown sheep?? go back to sleep you moron. you obviously have never seen the size of a fox compared to a full grown ewe or tup.
foxes are becoming more and more "humane tame" thanks to towny people thinking that the fox is a fluffy cudderly wild animal, and feeding them, hence drawing them closer to human interaction hence the reason for the one off attack on them kids. I understand from reading the papers that the children were screaming, crying at the time, the fox responded, as it would in the wild to a screaming rabbit but i strongly believe that this incident is the fault of the townys by feeding them and bringing them closer to urban areas and making them "tame".

What a complete dick.
OK, so you've never experienced losses by foxes - lucky you - but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
I've been around a while, and I can assure you that it does happen - I've seen it with my own eyes.
Why you feel the need to post such utter crap on here, and throw around quite so many insults is beyond me. You are just the type of member that is driving the good posters off this forum; lets face it, you are 25 years old, and have quite obviously only been into field sports for a short period of time.
There was a wise old saying, "better to keep your mouth shut and let people wonder if you are a fool than to open it and confirm the fact".
No, I haven't been in to field sports for a short time, dont talk as tho you know me, and as for my attitude, says the one that started his topic with "what a complete dick".....fail.

Go on the NWTF website and look at the LIVE LAMB WITH ITS FACE EATEN OFF BY A FOX OR the photo of a fox trying to drag a cat off a fence in a garden full of people at a familly barbecue in Barhead My old man has been controlling foxes with working terriers for over 40 years and I have never heard as much pish as that AED has written TRUE COLOURS coming through.
how do you know, or anyone know, that the lamb was not already dead before having its faced chewed in to? You don't. Because it is a picture. as for a cat, look on youtube, a cat aint no easy meal for a fox, a cat would soon see it off. if anyone is making them sound like an idiot, it is you LOL

You stupid c**t. Go back to camp anti you spastic. You are probably the only member on here that refuses to accept that foxes take lambs.
I love the fact that just because I refuse to accept that foxes take lambs the first thing that comes out anyones mouthes is "anti" change the record. I farm sheep. And never once have I had a lamb taken by a fox even tho there is plenty of foxes about.

I would go with the post above. Feens are great for squirrel, rat, mink etc. for rabbits i would get your self some 116 body grip traps from pro trapper. no worry about soil getting under the trigger and alot easier to place. Also when i used the Mk6 on rabbits i always got fur or the odd rabbit nipple. with the 116 body grip if something sets it off, its dead.
Couldn't agree more ....just started using 116's on rabbit (from protrapper) no going back to Fenns for me
body grip traps are brilliant, still use the fenns for rats and squirrels but gradually I will be building my body trap collection up. very impressed with them

he can only relocate the fox if he has permission to do so on that land, also relocating a fox could cause it to starve as it dont know the surroundings
it is a wild animal, a forager, it would work it out. Yes, it can contravene the animal welfare act when relocating, and yes, you do need permission to release the fox on land, if all them methods have failed, get someone to dispatch it.

Praise the lord!..I mean, Gerfalcon. Do apologies
I'm glad someone can see past the end of their nose.
You certainly can't as I understand.
-
Gerfalcon it looks like it's not just lurchers you find a nuisance. I'm surprised you are willing to write to anyone on this site seeing that we are sewer rats or are you trying to save the righteous and bring them up to your fresh air?
You do like your big words As for us having "strong flavours", thats just human nature, yet it doesn't mean we let that taint our decisions when moderating.
I like most words big , or small. In the right context and the right place. Of course.
There are approximately 750k words in the English language of which approximately 220k are in everyday usage. Your average university graduate has a vocabulary of approximately 6K= depending upon the subject and the university. Your average Daily Star reader has a vocabulary of less than 1k. The average HTL member...........well who am I to judge.
We are all subject to human nature. What matters is what you do with it. You can opt to get down in the sewers with the rats and the detritus or you can opt to climb the stairs to the fresh air.
Personally I prefer the fresh air.
It is blatantly obvious that you allow the strong flavours to proliferate. You only have to glance at the language used on a great number of posts to appreciate that.
Is that good, do you like being associated with the language of the gutter, do you like to see it used in every other post, or would you prefer to be associated with and see something more positive?
Praise the lord!..I mean, Gerfalcon. Do apologies

i just got an old lady up the road to sign my last renewal no props
That;s a renewal tho this is my first shotgun certificate.
-
best thing to do is contact your local firearms licence unit and ask them. As I understand you can use any one who has a proffesional standing like vicar, lawyer, etc. I used my local parish councillor and was excepted with no problems.
Good Luck
Thanks for the quick reply bullshot, I will give them a ring now.
-
Hi all,
I am applying for my shotgun certificate for the first time,
and I've come to a sudden stop filling it in on one question.
I am just wondering who you used as a professional person to countersign your application form. it states A countersignatory must also be a Member of Parliament, Justice of the the peace...etc. I don't know anyone like that that.
I was going to use My doctor but he has recently retired, I was also thinking about my local post office, but that has recently changed hands also.
Any ideas who I could use?
Apologies if this is in the wrong part of the forum.
Thanks in advance,
AED

if so, PM me.
I do have permission, but it's more woodland then anything, so more for air guns then anything. I ferret it and work terriers on my permission at present.
Looking for someone who is willing to have a tag along in my local area. I'm 25.

Bull, what BB is saying is that 'named' lines are not the be all and end all, in most cases they are a load of codswallop. Simply, take your time, do your homework, suss out someone who keeps a type to suit your needs, is out regular and go from there.
spot on mate
