    Evening All

With the hunting life forum being the broad church it is i am wondering if anybody has any experience of using the small hand held electric chain saw for pruning cutting small logs kindlin etc? See picture below. This isn't the specific brand i'm looking at (open minded as to type) but they seem to get mixed reviews so any advice appreciated.

    Cheers. Aled

I have the one in the picture. It's good for cutting 2'', maybe 3'' branches, but for anything else forget it. If you cut anything that isn't fixed, like a small branch, the saw kind of jumps about, like it finds it hard to start to cut. The one I got takes Makita 18v batteries, which I got shit loads of, and I bought it to have in the work van. The Mrs now has it and I bought a single battery Makita chainsaw for the van.

  2. I have a CZ 452 .17. Only ever put a bore snake down it. When I first got it it was shooting all over. Ran a ten pound note between the barrel and stock and the barrel was touching the stock. Took it apart and ran a Dremel over the stock so the barrel was floating better. Added a cheek riser and I'm happy with it now.

So easy enough to take bottom of bowl off? Give it a poke and clean?

Could do without a big garage bill, the Mrs doesn't know how much money I've already spunked on this shoot. She keeps asking why our family holiday is camping again

My pressure washer was pissing out fuel the other day, and that was a stuck open needle. I reckon it's this new ethonol fuel that's causing a lot of problems, I've started using an ethanol stabiliser that's supposed to give a better shelf life to fuel. Get it from Toolstation

Triple antioxidant fuel stabiliser eliminates then prevents ethanol related problems, promoting easy engine...

When you dismantle it take photos with your phone from different angles, and put a sheet on the floor. If there are any small parts, that you're not expecting, and they fall, they won't go far. That's saved me grief a few times.

Just put a set of these on my x-trail. Happy with them for £87.50 a tyre fitted

Was just going to suggest the same. I use Turbo Dakars and never had a problem, they're an old B.F.G. M/T pattern. Turbo Ranger is based on the old BF Goodrich KO pattern. Why pay more?

  5. I have used traps for rabbits. Bait with carrots. Buy the cheap economy ones, they have a higher water and sugar content. Cut them long ways as this'll keep them fresher for longer, if cut in discs they dry out. Put a little pile at the back of the cage and one or two pieces at the front. I did this in a garden that didn't want shooting. daft thing is I would dispatch them with an air pistol while they were i the cage. In a garden was O.K. but a public place and I reckon the cages will get recked.

  6. $28,000 Australian is just under £15,000. Iray ds 75 is £13k, £2k for the gun and there's your $28k in AUS. Sounds a lot, well, it is, but some people smoke 20 Benson and Hedges a day, at £15.95 a pack that works out at $6k a year, now THAT'S an expensive waste of money. But you pays yer money, and you makes yer choice.

I couldn't really give a toss what happens over there - They can pack it in and all go home or, they can bomb each other into extinction. They're not our people and they're not our problem.

We should have refused to give them a penny and, warned them all not to let it get too close to our eastern border.

I'm more concerned about the problems we have at home - our old folks pensions, our peoples access to medical services, we're being taken the piss out of by energy companies, 3rd world savages are still not being deported, The weird shit they're teaching kids at school, normal British folks are being pushed to the back in favour of foreigners and mentally ill poofs.

And now, the folks in this country have put foreigners in seats of power ffs.

We should be getting our own house in order before we try to help the world's feckless hordes.

Absolutely. Can't find any spare cash to pay for our infrastructure here in the U.K., but can find it for sending Billions of ££££'s of weapons to the Ukraine!. The whole things a farce. So our Government gives our money to arms produces, who then get a back hander because they're on the payroll some where, then these same weapons that are sent to Ukraine get diverted somewhere a long the line and end up on the blackmarket and in the hands of gangs and terrorists.  https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ukraine+weapons+end+up+on+black+market This war has been in the making for YEARS. Bidens boy was out there setting it all up, antagonising Putin with the threat of Ukraine joining N.A.T.O. They had to get a war started so they could turn off the Russian gas so America could sell its gas to Europe as they are so over stocked

Their only problem?, militarily they were committed to  Afghanistan.....and this is why over night everyone up and left Afghanistan to the Taliban, to go back to the middle ages. Just think, all that money and all those lives gone...lost...for nothing, and now they're spending all out TAX money on this debacle. Every where you look there's that blue and yellow, it's indoctrination, turn on the T.V. and the B.B.C. is pumping out Ukraine propaganda. I'm sick of it, it's time we concentrated on THIS country, OUR people  **Mike Drop**.....I'm outta' here!!!

  8. I was asked to trap some moles for a neighbour. Anyway, we start talking about shooting and he says he has been trying to shoot the rats off his bird table, about 15 yards from his window, but he keeps missing. I said perhaps his scope needed zeroing, he said he didn't have a scope. Can you adjust the iron sights I asked, it doesn't have any sights at all. He got the rifle, old break barrel thing, and like he said, it didn't have anything on there to sight a target. The thing was a piece of junk. I went and got my AA S410 and he was amazed at the accuracy. Now he's all excited and wants a P.C.P. I told him what a set up would cost and he said he'll stick with what he's got. I said what's the point if you can't hit jack with it?!.......mental.

  9. I went to walk through the patio doors and they were closed, couldn't see that as we have a beaded curtain thing hanging infront of them. Any way, I was carrying my AA S410 and the silencer hit the glass first sending a shock up the rifle, wonder the glass didn't break, and the scope was then way out, only had it a couple of months. Tried everything and couldn't get no joy. Rang Hawke and told them what had happened, didn't bullshit them, they said send it to them and they replaced it. This was 10 years ago and I still have that scope still on my S410 and it STILL works perfect.

20A and 4mm2 should be fine mate. You may struggle terminating a 6mm2 cable in a 16A socket.

You may want to check the Type of MCB i.e. A, B, C etc to any prevent nuisance tripping

Spot on!. Was talking to a bloke on site and he said exactly the same about the 6mm.?

  11. I want to put a 16 amp outlet/socket in my garage. I have a spare M.C.B. space on my consumer board. The consumer board, Wylex, is next to the back door and I can run a cable from there to the garage where I want to place the socket. From the consumer board to the socket is just under 5 meters. I'm thinking a Wylex 32A SP Type B MCB in the consumer board and 6mm T&E cable to a 16A 2P+E 230V Wall Mounted Socket will be O.K. Any electricians on here have any thoughts. It's to run a 16 amp plasma cutter and a 16 amp inverter welder. Cheers.
