  1. Thanks Kay. I did think along those lines but to have two phantom pregnancies and both eating thier litters seems a little unexpected. They are both still swollen and i have read that polecats may delay pregnancy. These are two jills from wild stock and mated with a white "greyhound" hob. I kept and used ferrets many years ago as a teenager in the 70's but never bred them, so this is a whole new experience to me
  2. I have two polecat jills that were mated between 24-26th March. While they are both showing signs of pregnancy, nipples, loosing hair, etc. I feel thay may be a little overdue. While they are both in excellent health and eating well. Should I be concerned?
  3. Managed to get my two jills mated with 2 local "greyhound" hobs. Can't wait to see the litter (fingers crossed). When should I be separating the two jills (sisters), anticipating they are pregnant?
  4. Thanks for your reply. Preferably looking for a polecat, but will consider white if nothing else comes up. I have a few feelers out and will let you know. No problem wuth you having a kit.
  5. Hi I am located in North Wales and have two young polecat jills(born last year) who are now showing signs of coming into "season". I would like to mate them and am looking for a hob within driving distance of Prestatyn. I know there are implications if they are not mated. Alternatively, can anybody advise on spaying and any likley consequences. Thanks in advance
  6. Hi As a ferret owner having returned to the sport after a long time, I haven't been out yet and subsequently have no rabbits to feed my ferrets. My springer on the other hand is catching rabbits almost daily with myxomatosis. Can I safely feed these to the ferrets as a change from chicken and dried food? Thanks in advance
