The law states her that a CF of
220 or .223 should only be used for fox control
So a shooter telling a lad that its OK to shoot charlie
With a .22 is irresponsible. Like I said if the chap goes
to the Garda web site then he will be guided in the right
direction.

I'm sorry but I think you need to change your profile name. Asking silly little questions like that. First of all do you have any firearms? if yes Then you must have done your compactly training. Then you will know that a 22lr is not suitable for foxes. You need to go to the Garda web site and have a look at the commissioners guide lines on what firearm would be suitable for what purpose.

I was looking at scales on ebay for reloading. I'm new to it and have a tight budget. Are any of the digital scales on ebay any good ?

Here's a couple of up to date pics of my Howa 1500 in .223

was out zeroing my howa .223 after fitting new mounts and was extreamly surprised by how much the wind affected the 55g bullet
compared to calmer days.
the wind was 12mph gusting up to 20mph on my gauge and the bullet drift was 10"
i have previously shot out to 450 yards on calmer days hitting a fox shaped target.
is there any data i could use to help with wild drift?
You can download the Strelok app to your phone it free. You just put in all the data and it will calculate it for you. I was out last night in the wind and managed to bust 2 both in the same field 100 yds apart lol.

I did the one it salt before. I left it for weeks then put it in the washing machine with clothes oops what a mess. Managed to defur everything and clean the washer before she got home though. lol

So meths does work then?debone the tail, stick the brush in a jam jar, top up with meths, shake and leave for a few weeks. Take it out and air dry. Thats all there is to it and it does work.
There is no need to wash the meths off.

For a long time now When i'm removing the tails of shot foxes i leave the tail bone still attached to charlie. I'm now looking for a good way to preserve the tails. I've tried salt but it didn't work for me. I was told ages ago about Borex but can't find it in any of the chemists I go to, most of them no longer have it on their system. I was thinking of using methylated spirit but was told by the Chemist that this probably won't work. Any ideas lads?

There's a chap in Carrick on suir that would give it a good service for you but you'd have to travel to him. If you want his number I could get it for you. PM if you want it.Hi lads,
Not sure if this is the right place for this so apologies in advance if its not.I have a Baikal O/U and was out for a shot on Saturday morning. A big cock flew up in front of me.I missed him with the 1st barrel and when I pulled the 2nd trigger nothing happened. I blamed a damp cartridge. On Monday morning I went down to feed a pond and the wife came with me.She was mad to fire a shot so I let her. She fired the 1st shot and pulled the 2nd trigger and again nothing happened. I looked across and coped that the safety had gone back on.
Any idea what could be causing this and how would I sort it?
