  1. I had Wheaton. Cross the best fox killer I ever had ,still doing it at 15years of age and speed to burn why other people say there slow must be cross ed with a slow greyhound mother of mine was an open class bitch which I raced around the country.that is what we should cross with not some old slow track dog that can't make the grade that's how we get the best breed from the best I only wish I could get hold of a proper coasreing greyhound bitch different shape completely to tracking dogs but hard to come by these days

  2. i,am from mid wales and crossed wild polecats with ferrets 50years ago they are the best workers you will ever have you dont need a marking dog because they wont enter when there is nothing at home and the dont bite if there well handled, and they dont come out until theres no rabbits in the burrow their faster than ferrets when working even greyhound ferrets arent as fast, why knock them when youve never worked them their not for beginners so stop talking them down. it doz my head in reading rubbish by in experrence people that think they know it all :D :D :bye:

  3. ive just got my self a grayhound from a really dirty house in sheffield, i took 25 fleas off her before i had her all checked out, she is now fully jabbed up with both vaccines and been flead 3 times, her fur has come thru lovely and is making a great dog she is 18 week old and was 11 week when i took her away............. NOW FOR THE BEST PART..... i really want to get this dog running, she is doing bits on the lure machine and loves a gud run around a small field, but what do i need to do to get her coarsing or even track racing, paper work??????? WHAT DO I DO?????? HELP!!!!!!!, INFO WOULD BE AWSOME PEOPLE.....

has the greyhound got papers if not flapping is all you will be able to do coarsing in this country is now ilegal not ireland you can take it rabbiting ok

  4. what is greyhound flapping? is there any tracks in ireland? can pure greyhounds run in flapping?

[flapping is race-ing greyhounds on un reg tracks not under ngrc rules, in ireland i dont think there are any flapping tracks ok ,.

  6. these are the pitbulls of the ferreting world .

hey everyone i got a polecat ggrrrrrrrr

not saying that you dont have a point there, but i wouldnt say all polecat owners keep them for that reason mate.like i said i have never kept ferrets only polecats.the reason i got mine was more of a wee project to see if i could rear them to a working abiity and it worked out for me.also like i said i very much boubt that these darrk polecats are wild.think they are adcvertised as that for the novelty aspect.until you actually rear one and work it then to condem everyone who trys to keep one is pretty much shuttered thinking.ive said before the worst ferret bite i ever recieved was from an albino ferret i could have killed the wee b*****d.ive reared loads of polecat litters over the years and can honestly say i never had any trouble with them latching on to me.if your not being asked to feed or work them why would you actually care what anyone did.everyone is entitled to an opinion and its a forum just for that ,but some lads just refuse to accept anyones elses opinion.like locators i think they are shite but some swear by them and would never put a ferret to ground without a collar.i understand that and if it works for you then fill your boots.

  7. so again lots of views on the animal which is a born killer of rabbit,,love them or hate them,,,james mackay has been selling them for years,,in the right hands perfect rabbit control partners,,,in the wrong hands waste of hutch space, dont handle, skulkers,,,last years litters went to working homes and pet homes,,,all still alive and have bolted rabbits,no problems,,,a lot of people on most sites talk about rabbit control and like everything else a master in the sport,,,i work my polecats and ferrets, lurcher,,i dont go asking people have you got a spare rabbit for my 10 ferrets,,,simply i catch them myself, unfortunately if you keep working animals get out there and learn the art and what its about then dictate about them/if you havent kept them dont slag the animal down,,number of times i get asked have you got spare rabbit when the guys got bloody ferrets of his own,,,same on most sites lads i expect critisism and i enjoy the crack, but it pisses me off when i know someones talking bullshit like i said proof is here come and see them,,,, i have been asked to cross my wild hob with a mink,,nice cross that will be,,,i will have polecat x black eyed silver kits hopefully,,,i am from neath south wales and over the last couple of years my polecat youngsters have been used in the sport of rabbiting,,ratting,,with no skulkers,,

  9. anyone wishing to take on wild polecats let me know...i keep and breed them ,,,just bred a litter of pure wild ones and a couple of litters of first x,,,these are not for first time ferret keepers ,,,they tend to be timid and can give you one hell of a bite,,,i own a few and all can be handled,,,,last years litters were very dark,,,they can be handled if you are prepared to put lots of time into them,,,,,,if you look at james bradleys latest dvd for a few ferrets more he is handling one exactly like the ones i breed, very dark....

are you sure you are breeding wild polecats or just polecat ferrets that have escaped, wild pole cats are very big half again the size of ferrets male would take both hands to fit around thier necks i know because i have caught them log before mink were let go in this country.I have seen what some people call wild polecat crosses most are to small to be pure crosses.50 years ago i crossed them, it took many years breeding to reduse their size to use rabbiting one thing i will say when you go one you dont need a dog for marking as they dont go down empty holes signed numberonepoacher
