  1. In my opinion,...Lurchers open up for various reasons...

It is easy, to categorise the causes, and keep on quoting the obvious,...but, speaking personally,..over the years,.I have run dogs at a very young age,.hunted them in dense woodland,...let them loose on the lamp,...slipped them after hares, deers, and many other critters, (both wild and domestic), that could be sold for a profit,..and they have never made a murmer... :hmm:

Corrispondingly,..I have also held them back,..waited patiently, until well grown, kept them out of the brash and forest floor,..made doubly sure that they could run like the wind, twist and turn like snakes,..etc,.etc,..and they have still screamed their fecking lungs out...

Facts are,..all things being equal....

Some dogs yip,.and some dogs just don't....

    f***ing well said young chap

  2. you cant choose a breed that will bay or stay, doesnt work like that, individual differences of dogs, some will want to bay some may want to get stuck in, some may not want to even enter, some will mix and bay

the best advice i think possible is to find a stud that does the job you want the pups to do

    good luck

  3. dont really see the problem if youre enjoying the dog and it pleases you, but i cant understand why you are defensive over the dog it is 11 months and hasnt seen f**k all so you cant say its fast ect as it is still a pup and im guessing you havent seen longdogs run and how theyd compare with your dog, regardless of this, good luck and have fun with it

i just compared his speed to other dogs he has run with and he has been out from 7 weeks old so seen a lot for his age but obviously not as much as an older dog. Thanks for post ATB.

its alright mate, i dont mean what he has seen literally, i mean the amount of game hes had, anyway you like the dog so who gives a f**k what anyone else thinks? people worrying about what others think too much
