  2. Cheers for all the comments guys some really helpful advice, will give them a go and lurchermania if he thinks I'm gonna share my sheep with him he can piss off, he can find his own. Taken me ages to get on first name speaking terms with some of them!!
  3. Is it a problem with whippets in general or just ours??
  4. I have a bit of a problem. I have a 13/14 month old whippet and have been told to take him out with an expirienced dog for him to learn. The problem is that all he wants to do is f**k any dog he sees, male or female. So he doesn't see the bunnies cos he's got other things on his mind. Is it something he'll grow out of or will I have to neuter him? If so will it spoil him as a working dog?
  5. Cheers mate. Unfortunetly I don't know anyone with ferrets. ,but think I'll just keep going out and hopefully we'll both learn as we go along and hopefully someone who lives locally will take us under their wing and sort us out.
  6. When it's just me and him his recall is not too bad, not brilliant but %. so I know there's more work to do but if he sees another dog then its out the window, he's gone! And I don't know how to stop this. I take him to a big beach not far from me as there are lots of bunnies there I'm told and it gives him a chance to open his legs and work on his lungs and when he sees another dog here well let's just say it's a long walk for me to go and get him cos he ain't coming back
  7. He's never been ferreting and never seen a live rabbit to be honest. Only seen dead rabbits that my springer finds in the woods. He has a play with them and that's about it. He has seen a couple of cats near where we live and given them a chase but they have got away luckily for them.
  8. Hi guys, I am from the carmarthen Area and bought a 9 month old whippet a few months ago. He's now 13 months old and and I am looking for someone who could spare me some time to help teach me to go lamping as I am new to it and don't really know what I should be doing. Any help would be appreciated. Also have I left it a bit too late to teach him to lamp or is his age ok? Many thanks
