  1. Hello all,

Just got a new scope for an air rifle and was calibrating it yesterday. Somebody said, 'You're eyes are different to mine, so the results will be different' or words to that effect. So I was wondering is this true?

Could a situation like this occur: I aimed the scope perfectly on the target, fired and the pellet went dead centre, then a different person tried shooting and went outside the target even though they aimed perfectly on the target?

Or...is it the case that if the crosshairs are lined up on a target, it doesn't matter what your vision is, that's where the pellet will go?

  2. Install AdBlock Plus.

Blocks all adverts, one of the best addons I have. Using friends'/relatives' computers isn't the same now as they don't have it installed. Get it and be ad free.

I'd love it if one landed over here mate!

Do you watch that Meteor hunter programme mate? I dont have the channel but my cousin is always going on about it. The make a fortune.....

I've never heard of it Lab, what channel is it on?

I think it used to be on Quest, not sure though. Definitely one of the Freeview channels though as I used to watch it. It was indeed an interesting show.

According to wikipedia they made 3 seasons, so perhaps they're available online somewhere...

  4. The clip was taking down its one where the two dogs were barking at the pig and then they leave this brown dog out of the jeep and he ploughs full speed onto the pig and turns him over

That's the one. I hoped someone had copied it or put it somewhere else, but apparently not.

  5. I'm guessing this was the boar hunting with the dojo argentinios ? The big white beast in the river seen it before absolute machine !!

Don't think it's that video. It's a video where there were two dogs pussy footing around a boar, then this dog, 'Clive' was released and he goes barrelling straight into it.

Yeah on the edge of a stream right? Gotta be the same one

Yeah, that's the one. Any chance you have it somewhere?

  9. It's not until I moved abroad I fully realised what the UK has to offer.

    • Clean skies and no pollution - even in the big cities
    • High standard of living
    • The NHS
    • Clean, drinkable tap water
    • A good climate - believe it or not it has.

That's just off the top of my head, I'm sure I could think of others.

  10. I kept them (Italian) when I lived in England. They're easy enough to keep, just make sure any enclosure has head room, they can be quite skittish and fly vertically upwards from time to time. The enclosure I had them in was about 8-10ft tall and they still hit their heads on the top when they were spooked.

Males can also be fairly viscious to females, so if you're only after them for the eggs, which are tiny (but they do lay every day usually), consider females only.

There's plenty of info online about keeping them.

  11. Earthrise for those wondering:

I like pictures that make you realise how small/insignificant you are, but at the same time also how lucky you are. My desktop's always changing,

Not sure if this counts, but one of my favourite 'photographs' that makes you think comes from the website Reddit (I'm sure some of you will know of it). Anyway, one man posted a request for the Reddit community to photoshop a photo he had of his young daughter and her friend. Unfortunately she had leukemia. He wondered if anyone could change the background to something interesting/funny so he could show his daughter (I think in an effort to cheer her up, or even remember her by).

EDIT: http://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/lqx59/photoshop_request_this_is_the_photo_of_my/?t=1319839522 LINK TO THE REDDIT THREAD

  12. I used to have 5 fish tanks before I emigrated. Everything from your usual guppies and neons to datnoids and gars. I also kept and bred shrimp, if I went back into fish keeping I'd definitely have some sort of shrimp set up, ideally from Sulawesi.
