  1. in an ideal world i would have a good size block work shed with a large section for the ferrets one end and access to another run outside with a roof, that way they got good space to play inside or out depending on the weather. and deff big enough to walk in , easyer to clean and easyer to spend time handling them

  2. good idea that but how much are solar panels , would like to get proper power out there at some point got a little fridge freezer out there ready for the day lol

the light i got is a camping caravaning one

Chilly go on ebay and find the cheapest 20 watt panel you can afford, make sure it's a monocrystalline type, not amorphous or polycrystalline as they are not too efficient, the battery you get should be a leisure battery type as in caravans and any low wattage led or caravan type lighting and you should be right with that setup, any detailed info you require on this subject give me a pm and i will advise you,

    Higgins

thanks higs will check that out now expect a pm lol

  3. i now this isnt really ferret related , well it is sort off lol , i got a little 12v fluorescent light in the shed where the ferrets are ,and run an extension lead out to the shed and a 12v transformer if i need light, what i was wondering is if i was to get a car battery could i just wire the light up to it? its just when i nip out to see them in the night i cant see sod all and its to much hassle with the extension lead when im just nipping out there for 5 mins

  4. nice write up mate :D

  6. well managed to get a few hours out today with the ferrets, first day out in 6 years , so decided to take just one of the ferrets small white jill, incidentally the one that bites the least lol, so i set off in the morning picked a friend up on the way and away we went , it was a nice frosty morning altho it wasnt 2 early , and as we walked from the car we seen 3 pheasant. so we arrived at the area we were going to work and decided to try my luck with a little 4 holer but there was nothing home :( , so we walked on a little seen some nice holes loads of sand kicked out so decided to give it a try, as i layed the nets realised there were alot more holes than i thought and used all 20 i had with me, so we sat back for five mins had a coffe and fag to let it settle for a bit then in went the ferret , she went down ok but kept surfacing here and the so in the end decided to move on , at this point i was unsure to weather there was no one home or if the jill was not working? as this was the first time id taken out. so as we moved on see a bunny but was unsure if it went to ground in a near set, so out came the nets and down went the ferret but again in and out all the time  so on we moved again . tryed another little 5 holer jill stayed down for a bit this time but still no bunnys. so found another set, all looked good nets down and fert, came out twice so tried her the other side and she stayed down and hay presto the first rabbit and the ferret right behind it  was happy at this point thinking yes she is working , so disbatched the bunny picked up the ferret to put her back down and bam little bugger bit me lol but ill give her that one as she was prob wound up , in and out again so on we moved . came to another set nets down and ferret and she bolted another 2 and was on they tail as they hit the net so am happy with her so far  . we decided to call it a day 3 rabbits and a nice few hours out and the ferret seemed to be working great

took the dog along to never seen a days work in her life and is 4 now so not expecting 2 much , had to tie her up when the ferret was down as not sure i trust her with them , well yet any way , she did wine alot tho when tied so think i need to break her to the ferrets asap, but today she met her first rabbit and had a good reaction , didn't go mad but had a bite of one and keen to get hold of them in the bag all the way home so hopefully she may prove usefully now that she nows what the smell is she is sniffing down the holes in future lol
