  2. How much are people paying for redmills racer and the gain biscuits? Just want to know how good a deal im getting. Also is gain worthwhile isnt it just for packing on weight in general. Is redmills too much protein for small whippety lurchers?

    Cheers

Gain 13.50 . mulched chicken carcase 7.50 for 2and 1/2 stone . mixed together daily . costs me about 12 quid a month to feed 3 beddy whips

it was a dog from merlin and eve lines over minshaw then put to a racer in the northeast called wor jon . put to my firstx beddy whip . turned out some nice dogs. out of a litter of 5 , 3 are working hard dont know about the other two they ended up at pup homes . , I woudlnt be scared of the cross that you are suggesting at the start of your thread mate , At the end of the if put hard work into your dog then you get hard work back . and if your interested in using mine for stud pm me , There is already a litter from each of them on the way to first cross beddy/whips
that's funny that wor john is deneside belle sire he's the whippet they used to a very good gray named florance there 2 pedigrees are great but wor john was a great sire and nocked some canny dogs out
a friend of mine was looking for a good dog to put over his bitch and the name that came out most was wor jon , Very good pups come from him , i Certainly cant complain .

  8. I hope so, I've just put a deposit down a 1st gen Whippet X Beddy. It's coming from good working stock and has been bred for the owner to have a pup. I'll post some updates in the coming months.

Thanks chaps, I think I am more worried that she lacks the minerials on game full stop, she seems to be a very placid dog and is very easy going at home but will put the terrier in its place when pushed. She wont even eat a barf diet! instead preferring to eat dry. She is a strange one.

I think she has thrown to the whippet too much to be a fox dog and if that was my intention I would have gone for a bit of DH,Beddy or Bull to start with I just dont want her getting in a tangle and getting her A%*£ handed to her, especially the vet bills. Saying that her mother is a 1st X Beardie and backs away from nothing although she is a much bigger animal all around with the attitude to match.

Sky is a lovely dog and she will be given plenty of opportunity to develop this coming season, just wish it would hurry up so we can get out there and get our hands dirty.

Whats the worry about the dog being placid especially if she is among your family(kids) better safe than sorry . I have 3 dogs 1 beddy whip 1st cross and 2 beddywhip/whippet lurchers and they are so placid with the kids and anyone else who comes to my place , but when they are out mooching or lamping they are a very different dog . one is quite old now in her twilight years and the other 2 are just comin into their second season they . were much like your dog sounds but have now grown into a pair of serious bunny bashers . and game as anything so be patient and your dog will come good .

Cheers BC, not worried about her being placid at home at all, in fact its preferable. I was wondering if dogs that are placid at home can turn out placid and gentle out in the field so therefore lacking in instinct and drive when needed.

Strangely, since the cub incident she is diving into cover and constantly monitoring her surrounds looking for anything moving. She has now picked up on a few tree rats in the last few days, something she never noticed or bothered with before. I think that perhaps she is starting to realise what it is all about.

they can be placid at home and a real hunter , they just all twig at different times mate . like i said i have two litter brothers one was flat out by 13 months old and the other didnt really show anything until about 18months old , just keep at it and she will turn the corner ,

Why does it depend on what you use them for ? I have seen both breeds working and for the size and weight of both breeds the beddyx is pound for pound an outstanding breed on any form of quarry

i think you may have hit the nail on the head with the pound for pound analogy.

beddy crosses won't come near the wheaton x for size and power - so the bigger the game the better off you are with a bigger dog. no one wants a long drawn out struggle.

no dog man would run a their warrior on summat to see it smashed up . so it would be fair to say that summat large would require two warriors , and two beddyx can handle anything nee sweat as do many other types but not with the same gusto . or fight in them.

  12. I run a first cross beddy/whip and its a proper ninja cant fault . and i know people with wheaton x's and they are ninja's to . but plenty of both breed dont make the grade as with every other breed of dog you will ever come across . try a beddy whip or beddy grey cross with a wheaton first cross see what comes of it .

  13. Hi all i would be interested in day or evening rabbiting or foxing with my .22 . as the farm i shoot has a massive absence of bunnies since me and the farmers grandson have done a particularly good job of keeping the numbers down last season . if anyone is after ashooting partner for a night or two i am available . i live in co.durham and willing to travel upto an hour or so.

    Heres to hoping ..
