CarraghsGem, Pearce Doherty is the man, he's not even my T.D. but he answered my email & he's already working on what I asked him, which is more than my local minister is doing for me. Vote sinn fein.
  2. I was the after sales manager for a nissan dealer & since Renault bought the controlling share in Nissan the cars are crap. Anything pre 2000 was bombproof but the later ones !!!! The new micras we could barely keep them running long enough to get off the forecourt, they eventually had to do an unofficial recall to replace major electrical components. Almeras & Primeras were just as bad, breaking down on the road, just don't touch them.
  3. I've also got one of Skycat's Airedale crosses, I agree with you Mars, mine sits & stays, recalls well & retrieves just about anything. I started to teach her the down & she picked it up after 4 repetitions, the last dog I had that was that quick on the uptake was my old gsd from real sheepherding stock from Germany. Mine has taken after her dam in looks & I have high hopes for her.
  4. At 4 months he's still a puppy. Don't put him on a line & whatever you do , don't just yank him in. If he's in the house call him when you feed him, always use the same command, here, come whatever. If he's kenneled use titbits when you have him out, cubes of cheese, pieces of sausage whatever turns him on. When you call him, crouch down & still facing him take big fast steps backwards holding out the titbit. Once he's 100% don't use the titbit everytime. When you call him use the nicest most friendly tone of voice you have. As regards using a line, I have only used one on problem dog
