  1. Herne - name meaning mythical hunter Bryce - means swift Cerin - little dark one List - cunning Todd - as in fox, clever and wily
  2. Cheers for that, they do 'hunting days' - perfect!
  3. Hi all, My Dad will be 60 next year and I'm looking for something different for him. He always had working Lurchers & Terriers and is a very experienced fisherman. I was thinking of a Falconry Experience gift, because it's something I don't think he's ever done but is in keeping with the type of thing he'd enjoy. Ideally it would be in the North West and would involve going out and working a hawk(s) - everything I've found so far isn't an actual working package. I'd be grateful for any ideas - ta
  4. Focus was on the dogs but won't deny being a bitch!
  5. Couldn't agree more, also IMO the breeding from untested/under achieving dogs is one of the reasons why so many lurchers end up in rescue, which in turn contributes to giving folk who work their dogs a bad reputation, just more fuel for the antis.
  6. A few pics from yesterday, mainly the coursing.
  7. This is my Grandad and the white hare that was being coursed in the black and white pics.
  8. 1st pics from the 50's (My Grandad), colours pics (My Dad) - yep def from the 70's and all taken in and around Stalybridge, North West UK.
  9. nice pics what breedin was he cheers Mother Stitch was a proven hare courser, she looked like a straight Saluki/Grey, she was a sister to my Grandads bitch, Calm. Dad was just a rough haired dog (looked like a deerhound/Grey), they didn't know his breeding, just that a few generations back there was a black lab in the mix, they knew the owner very well so knew he was a proven courser who'd already sired good dogs. Our Fred was the only smooth in his litter.
