Sounds like you have a good dog there then mate for me personally i woundnt get a lab to work cover im not saying there not any good because that would be wrong for me to say as im sure like yours there is some good ones but for me i think why mess about with a cross when there is pedigees that are there to do the job and have been for years. ill be getting a springer or maybe a cocker with a good pedigree to work deep cover for a bird of prey, lurcher and some rough shooting so will be doing some retrieveing to. If i wanted a dog to mainly just retreive on land and water then a lab would

from what i understand is mate it all depends on what you are going to use the dog for mate most labs are not used to work cover or wont work deep cover as a springer or cocker will and depending on the size of game your hunting to mate. Im no expert mate as im looking to get my first springer or cocker next year but you just need to look at the land your working what quarry your hunting, how your hunting and then look at the breeds and see whats for you, well thats all im doing

Anyway its seems to be working as my little one just had a fit in the kitchen over his breakfast and not a noise i know he will start calling once he sees me but i am just working on breaking the habit of calling and keeping it to a min and by the time it come s to his moult ill put him away for 6 months and

Just thought i would do a quick update on Thor and some photos of out hunting. Thor has a real liking for pheasents and has smashed a few out of the sky but has not managed to hold on to them on the ground but hopefully that will come with experience and time. He is working well with the ferrets and is nailing rabbits well now after a slow start. Now the bad part he is calling when he can hear or see me in the garden which i must admit has really pissed me off :censored: . It aint constant just goes into one but soon calms down once im out of the garden. He is really quiet when huntin

I always have a tub of vaseline handy under the bed mate if you want some . Foot sores I gently fine spray with VIRKON after a meal to keep them clean from any bacteria, you can also stick some Iodine on them with a cotton bud if needed. this is another time when a bird made to the Hood comes in handy, lifes made alot easier if the birds a bit arsey ...... i think ill give that one a miss but thanks all the same mate
-
Hahaha i know what your saying there mate you cut a finger or something and there aint a blaster in sight but you have everything you need for the animals hahaha. The vasalin mix is a very good idea mate keep any crap out of the injury and keep it where its meant to be. Might have to see if i could get someone to show me how to use a crop tube or salin properly. Something i forgot to ask about how do you apply treatment to any sores on the feet if needed Thor hasnt got any problem but just in case would you use a unsharped pencil or something like that?

cheers steve can you text there number over to me if you have it. like you said it might be expensive buying from them like most things that come from vets but might be worth finding out what they have in theres and putting it together myself.
-
thats a great idea mate. Think that will be something i will add to the kit cheers mate
