  1. thanks. looking forward to seeing them progress.
  2. thank you for you very informative responce. . . they got chicken fillets and high quality ferret nut today, im only starting out with ferrets so wanted to make sure they were getting the best, as i said previously, the lad i bought them off told me that he had them on bread milk and cat food. i didnt think this was a great idea thats why i asked on here. thanks again.
  3. ye the corvids are pretty manky alright, woodies it is. itl give me a nice excuse to go out and do some shooting. would you advise against giving them rabbits? or should i fillet the rabbit and give them the flesh?
  4. thanks for all your advise, would it be ok to give them magpies and crows? and then wood pigeons?
  5. thanks, i was only on to the vet booking them in for worming on wed. would the feathers be too corse for young ferrets?
  6. i only got them yesterday and asked the bloke who sold them to me what he had them on, and that is what he told me he was using. i came on here asking for advise, i can assure you im no idiot, i dont wana be giving them crap that is why in my origional post i asked what is the BEST thing to feed them. i dont give my dogs tinned food so i wasnt 100% about giving tinned food to the kits. i will get a complette ferret nut in the morning. should all the meat they get be raw? or should i partially cook it?? when i give them trapped birds, should these be gutted and plucked?? thanks
  7. just got two young ferrets, whats the best thing for feeding them, at the minute im feeding them some bread and milk and tinned catfood... all suggestions appreciated. thanks
  8. ive seen those rabbits with the white band (something simillar to that of the saddle back pig)before. assumed they were captive bread. some of those rabbits on the bonnet look like orange rex's. the mixer story seems to be poping up most.
  9. i would have assumed this as id like to leave as little a mark on the countryside as possible, seems contradictory when the bunnies have it well dug up to begin with hahaha.
  10. after putting this post up i see another lad got a black bunny in his haul. . is it a recessed jeen or is it due to inbreeding??
  11. noticed on a thread here recently talk of a black rabbit. does this occur ofton? there was a black rabbit in the field next to my mates house last year but i assumed that it had escaped from someones hutch somewhere? secondly when you lads have to do a little digging for your ferrets do you fill the hole back in? or does it make any difference? i assume you would like rabbits to return to the set so as it can be worked again so does leaving evidence of dig outs hamper the repopulation of a set? hope these questions arent too amatureish. . thanks
  12. im currently training my little jrt on the rats. hes doing ok so far but i have to admit i was a little taken aback by how much of a fight the little shits put up. i once saw a wild (or strayed) ferret taking on a rat twice his size near the canal up by me. although the ferret was giving a good account of himself he was pretty bloodied, the rat eventually met his end with a swift blow of a stick i picked up. the ferret ran off before i could try catch it. . .anyway my point is i think if your ferrets are your hobby i wouldnt risk it, however if killing rats by whatever means is your hobby than
