Find a good straight run. Forget all that stuff about feeding runs and travelling runs, just find a straight bit. Open up and smooth out with probe handle, add more soil and tighten it up if needed. Fit trap as tight as possible, wedge in with soil so there is zero movement.
Go back 48 hrs later. Remove mole. Bill homeowner £250.
Many thanks for the info and pics he said he was not packing his trap as much as that so he has learned something new thanks

i used to make probes, i cant weld no more after having to have a pacemaker so cant do it no more. I made them from 10mm 304 stainless, 30mm tube handle capped off, i drilled a hole in the handle and let the bar in to the inside of the other side of tube before welding, i welded a bit off 16mm bar on the end and shaped up with the grinder to make a bulb, i did smaller ones out of 6mm bar with a 9mm bulb on for hard or stoney ground, it is easy to feel the give when it hits the tube with a bulb on, as you lift it you can feel it banging on the top of the tube.
Many thanks for the info , a gent on another forum gifted one he got with kit, so he cant wait to get out and try that , I also got him a copy of Molecatcher by Jeff Nicholls, he is a bit worried about the part that says the tunnel should be opened and closed ASAP as he is still getting used to setting them etc tks

He needs someone to give him a quick lesson. In 48 hours or less I'd expect every trap to have either caught or at least be sprung and blocked.
Blooming eck he would be over the moon with that sort of success tks

Grandson has took an interest in mole trapping , he was kindly given couple of traps, he set out seven , nothing the first check he lifted 5 and reset 2 and got 1 but not had anything since they are the tunnel type ones, I am hoping he does well at it as he has very bad ADHD and life has been a bitch for him, but he just gets on with it any advice chaps would be much appreciated , he has been watching a lot of ytube but conflicting stuff about scent etc etc thanks for reading

Do you really need the money? They don't eat or drink...unless I was ready for a nursing home, theres no way I'd sell any of my kit.... especially now, you can't get them no more...Be careful..every cnut wants stuff for next too nothing these days,so they can screw some cnut else and sell it on...same silly cnuts, sell their wonder dogs and kit when the summer comes...then expect to be able to buy it back ,so they can get a few pics for Instagram when the season starts
Not far from nursing home bud lol but really not fussed to sell them , the amount of scammers trying it on already on farce book gumtree etc has been unbelievable I have kept them all this time so a little longer wont matter lol thanks for your comments and input had mates like that in the past didnt want to feed ferrets through the summer and walk away and leave them when they up etc etc etc lol

I bought a classic many moons ago after seeing the mate with one when out on the boat fishing however from the start it was never any good you could feel the heat through it as soon as you filled it so up the loft it went for over 15 yrs lol then I was on an american site and they were talking about there guarantees so I sent an email to stanley explaining they got back with a Uk distributer who in turn asked me to send it to them , a week later brand new one arrived and is warm for over a day so cant fault them
