i have a nine month old saluki/whippet/grey. tonight i went out to give both of my dogs a walk before bed and noticed he had a limp on his front left paw. when i put him in his pen a few hours before he was fine. anyway, i had a good look at his paw and full leg, when, i noticed at the top of his leg, on the inner side, he has a red coloured mole. it dosnt look sore and dosnt bother him when i touch it but i just thourght i'd see if anyone had any ideas or expierced this before before he goes to the vets. alb adamboro

Advice wanted on training a lurcher

have the pup out as much as possible, look at my post on here called my saluki, some good expirenced lads gave me some sound advice on training to recall a stubburn dog, you might find it usefull. let us know how it gets on, cheers. -

mine has raw, raw blackpuddind goes down nicely. just make sure u mix in some decent puppy food with it.

hi, cheers for the advice lads, had himout today with my pup and another two salukis. had him in a closed of field so he couldnt run too far but he never even went near the sides. i was letting him run then calling him back over and over again. each time he rand owards me a few times but then went round me. after a few though he came to my hand, then i repeted it all but in a new spot in the field, think this will do the trick if repeted every day? cheers.

A few of the more experienced boys on here will give you better advice than me, but I have seen good results achieved using a very long lead or rope (I think there is another thread on this). With my lurcher bitch, I started with treat training and praise but, once she got the idea and decided no to come back, I'd consistantly scruff her and carry her back to where I called her from. I think it took about two weeks before she realised it was easier to come back. The problem with this is that you need a small enclosed area where the dog can't get away or do any damage before you catch up wi

hi, same happend to one of mine, vet basicall twisted and pulled really fast. came straight off. the salt water it for a few days. all sorted.

i had this problem with my pup, turnred out my older dog was pissing on the pups bed so the pup had nowhere to sleep. walks and food before bed made no difference.

hi, i have a saluki, 2 years old, but i only got him a few months ago. he had been called benji but never really tought to do anything, so he never really knew his name. now, a few months on i have him listening to his name (benji) and responding in the garden, but as soon as he is out side, alone or with my pup(very well behaived and good recaller) he runs off and ignores my call.ive had benji slightly longer than my pup but they get on really well. any advive on how i can get him to recall and eventually walk to heel? thanks.
