I do alot of shotgun shooting aswell as airgun shooting. And have no problem with either. You can't gurantee a kill with a shotgun, it's impossible. After you've pulled the trigger your hoping one of the shot find's a kill zone. COuld be considered a very flippant attitude toward humanely killing a live animal. I don't personally think so myself but that said. When compared to an air rifle which is capable of extreme accuracy given practice, i would say that shotgunning is more lazy than airgun shooting. Each form of shooting has it's own pro's & con's. If you think air rifle shooting

I use them in my Daystate Huntsman Classic in .177 flavour and it loves them. Perfect all round hunting pellet i find. Shaun.

It will drop rabbit's and Woodies given your aim is true, infact if it's full power like the ad' say's it's okay for most airgun quarry. I started off with a rifle much the same. It was a Webley Stingray. I've got no idea if they have anything in common or not. But i used to bag quite abit with it. Try the rifle before you buy it. It may not fit you at all. Then you've wasted your £150. Don't put a 'Bipod on it unless your going to be shooting from the Bipod full stop. Spring rifles recoil. So the body has to absorb the recoil the same way each time to give you the same POI. If you

What a superb read mate. Really, really well done. I was almost looking through your eye's in parts. Great stuff. Well done on waiting it out. Shaun.

You can get a decent second hand spring airgun for about £150 in the right places. Personally i'd buy private. Gun shop's usually add that extra bit on to make themselves some money. ( can't blame them.) Rifle's like the old webley spring range and some older HW rifles will come into that price range. But personally i'd save another £50 and go for a TX200 HC or a HW equivalent. Don't forget you'll need some decent glass ontop. I personally don't spend anything less than £150 on a scope. That way i can be confident that the scope is going to be of good quality. I use the MTC VIper but there

i was under the impression you dont need to clean the barrel of an air rifle, or you 'shouldnt' clean the barrel? i may be wrong though, someone will correct me You shouldn't ever clean an air rifle barrel. Not until you start to lose accuracy. The rifling on the barrel collects tiny deposit's of lead and these are essential to giving the pellet a smooth twist in the barrel. So you are quite right buddy. I often siwtch pellets depending on range and quarry and accuracy is not effected in the slightest. Neither do i believe in lubing pellet's I tried lubing and weighing several

I never seen the first picture. But it certainly looks like a "pukka" hunting rifle to me. I had a little go of an ultra at my local HFT club and i was pretty amazed with the performance. They seem really good tools for both pursuits. Very nice Shaun.

What a garden you have too Jasper. I can only dreaming of having such a place. Superb Almost reminds of River Cottage. I do hope that you have a better Hair-Do' than Hugh Shaun.

Hi Bill, I use the MTC viper 4-16x50 IRS with the SCB recticle. It's a really great bit of kit and serves me well. Shaun.

Hey buddy. First things first, great shooting. You're certainly not lacking in the accuracy department. Pellet on pellet groups are very hard to achieve, even at 30 yards and can take quite a while to master them if you don't get out in the field much. Before i started shooting HFT i found my groupings were good but i could never quite put them pellet on pellet. When i began shooting HFT i decided i needed to put some more practice in and set to it each night after work. Within about a week i'd fine tuned my prone shooting position so that i could hold a steadier bead and groupings imp

My dad got me into hunting many many moons ago lol. He was into his shotgun shooting and deer stalking and used to let me tag along with him when he was decoying woodies ect. He would always give me an unloaded 12 bore to carry around which i never used to understand untill i got older. He was just getting me used to a shotgun and teaching me how to go about holding one safely ect. When i was 14 i took my first wood pigeon with the 12' which nearly knocked me off my feet. Magical moments. And moments that shall stay with me forever. Snoop.

American fellow? ( we maybe talking about different chaps here lol.) If we are talking about the same guy. I seen several of his videos of him action both in archery and in shotgun shooting. He invented a few arrows aswell if i remember correctly? Shaun.

Best of luck in Germany Zin'. Unfortunately i've not had time to speak with you but i wish you & your family all the best over there. I was posted over to germany whilst serving in the forces and was completely amazed to find that nobody on camp ect spoke much German at all. I did learn some German whilst over there. The main phrase being; "drei Bier bitte." Kind regards. Shaun.

Unfortunately mate. I don't think you can expect much else when you've done something like this. The last thing the sport need's is more bad press. I think you'll agree with me on that. For you and your friend to have a read over. http://www.shootinguk.co.uk/goshooting/starting/126765/The_game_seasons.html Don't take it as b*tching or people having ago. A deep one this... At about 20 years of age my girlfriend of the time ( now fiancee & due to be married next year) fell pregnant. At the time she was in university and we decided that it wouldn't be a good time. A few years on i often find myself wondering who he/she would have grown into ect, Hair colour, eye colour. What job would they have chosen ect? So i simply wish i could turn back time and to give he/she a chance in life. I'm not over run with guilt ot anything like that. But i'm sure a few of you guys with children know what i mean. Shaun.

Good shooting mate, Well done on the rabbits and woodies. Shaun.

Well Guys i must say to you ALL, thanks for your support in getting the forum on it's feet. We've got a few members now with more joing everday. We've got a good team of admin/mods who will keep the plce right. But i must stress that it is the members forum and aslong as they don't go completely stupid, they can do with it what they like. Hunting pics, vids and stories are allowed. We have a strip down section including walkrthoughs on how to strip down a fair few rifles. We have a cooking section and a section we call the "wild Gourmet" where people who enjoying foraging for food aswell as

Good point Kev, mate. I shall put an alert in that part of the forum telling members not to post any names ect. Shaun.

I hope the two sites can compliment each other. Shooting from the hide isn't ever going to be as big as THL. If you feel like you want to join and see what's it like then i'd be happy to see you over there. As said, everyone is welcome. However, if you feel that you don't want to join the forum. Then don't. I don't want to cause any disputes over loyalties ect. Just because i have a low post count does not mean i have not been active on this forum. last year i sent 4 books completely free of charge to a young chap who was going away to college to begin a career in game keeping via this fo
