I do alot of shotgun shooting aswell as airgun shooting. And have no problem with either. You can't gurantee a kill with a shotgun, it's impossible. After you've pulled the trigger your hoping one of the shot find's a kill zone. COuld be considered a very flippant attitude toward humanely killing a live animal. I don't personally think so myself but that said. When compared to an air rifle which is capable of extreme accuracy given practice, i would say that shotgunning is more lazy than airgun shooting. You can get a decent second hand spring airgun for about £150 in the right places. Personally i'd buy private. Gun shop's usually add that extra bit on to make themselves some money. ( can't blame them.) Rifle's like the old webley spring range and some older HW rifles will come into that price range. But personally i'd save another £50 and go for a TX200 HC or a HW equivalent. Don't forget you'll need some decent glass ontop. I personally don't spend anything less than £150 on a scope. That way i can be confident that the scope is going to be of good quality. i was under the impression you dont need to clean the barrel of an air rifle, or you 'shouldnt' clean the barrel? i may be wrong though, someone will correct me You shouldn't ever clean an air rifle barrel. Not until you start to lose accuracy. The rifling on the barrel collects tiny deposit's of lead and these are essential to giving the pellet a smooth twist in the barrel. I never seen the first picture. But it certainly looks like a "pukka" hunting rifle to me. I had a little go of an ultra at my local HFT club and i was pretty amazed with the performance. They seem really good tools for both pursuits. Very nice Shaun.

Hey buddy. First things first, great shooting. You're certainly not lacking in the accuracy department. Pellet on pellet groups are very hard to achieve, even at 30 yards and can take quite a while to master them if you don't get out in the field much. Before i started shooting HFT i found my groupings were good but i could never quite put them pellet on pellet. When i began shooting HFT i decided i needed to put some more practice in and set to it each night after work. My dad got me into hunting many many moons ago lol. He was into his shotgun shooting and deer stalking and used to let me tag along with him when he was decoying woodies ect. He would always give me an unloaded 12 bore to carry around which i never used to understand untill i got older. He was just getting me used to a shotgun and teaching me how to go about holding one safely ect. When i was 14 i took my first wood pigeon with the 12' which nearly knocked me off my feet.
