  2. Very nice bit of kit there mate, what calibre did you go for? Make sure you give it a real good clean before you go out and zero it and if possible take the bolt to bits and give that a thorough clean, mine was covered in god knows what when i got it

Thats good advice, I bought my Tikka and it was spewing out all sorts of stuff Lol. By the way I was considering getting an Howa, it came highly recommended until I got the chance of a T3 at a snip. Hope it goes well with it man DAVE

  3. Gwent pass both 22 and 17HMR as suitable for "Short range occasional fox" They don't state fox on the ticket BUT after having long conversations with both FEO's they recognise fox as vermin and both calibres suitable DAVE

This is where an old boy like me starts getting confused with terminology.....it's passed for...

"Short range occasional fox", but they don't say fox on the FAC...what do they say short range occassional about then and how do they define it??:hmm:

Lol, Yes they in talking say that both Rimmies are ok for "Short range occasional fox" they obviously don't state that on anything it just a verbal agreement between friends

  4. Good shot - what ammo mate? Nice looking rifle

When I bought the gun I had 60 Hornady 55 grainers with it so I've been using them up but will then be getting some Norma 40 grainers. DAVE

What twist Rate is that one...1-8 or 1-12, I wouldn't invest in too many of those 40g until you try them!!

    ATB!!

Its a 1-12 mate, whats up with the 40 grainers then? DAVE

  5. Out lamping tonight in the Pontypool area Lol and shone into a field where we had seen a fox a few weeks back (there were 3 of us present so no porkies being told here) as we put the lamp on I couldn't believe my eyes I was half expecting to maybe see a rabbit or a Charles but there staring at us about 80 yards away was a flipping Roe Deer Lol, we were all blown away. I've shot in the area for twenty years and done quite a bit of half serious lamping for 10 years and have never saw or even heard of Deer being in the area or anywhere near the area. We came back to mine for a cuppa after and none of us could believe what had taken place, man it would be a real first if Roe have moved into the Town :clapper:

  6. We had a thread like this recently, where the seller only had a photocopy of his FAC. Massive consensus was don't even think about it. Purchase of an unregistered firearm will certainly cost you your FAC forever, and could get you banged up. I mean come on! He can't find his FAC? Where has he been buying ammo - without his FAC? Tell him that if and when he finds his FAC you will go into the deal, and NOT before.

    Ric

Thanks Guys I agree totally, crazy I know how on earth can he have managed for I think he said a year without his ticket?? He supposed to be calling me on Monday but I think I will call my FEO before then and get his opinion. DAVE

  7. Hi, I'm in the process of trying to buy a Tikka 223 off a guy local to me, I thought we were on the road to a deal until I had a call from him saying that he couldn't find his FAC ticket, he then asked if he needed it to sell me the gun, I would assume he would just need the ticket number from his FEO which I assume he could get via a phone call, am I right? I've never sold or bought a firearm unless its via a shop so unsure of the process. Thanks. DAVE
