The Elgeeco made in the UK and supplied by Elgeeco works very well upright. The copy of this trap imported from China by Pest Stop is the one that gives trouble and should not be confused with the genuine article!.

If the instructions are printed on the box, then your trap is a Chinese copy probably shipped in by Pest Stop. The genuine Elgeeco Squirrel Trap with Bird Feeder is made in the UK and the instructions are printed on a sheet of paper inside the trap. The UK trap is far superior quality and can be obtained direct from www.elgeeco.com.

i thought that the clamtrap had been around for years certainly not a modern style of trap I think variations of most traps have been around for years but that particular form was patented in 2006 - the patent is not easy to find cos it's filed under a different catagory. Ian Woods copied the Elgeeco design with minor mods to suit fabrication methods available. I think they are also available from a place in Scotland.
