  1. Lads, I just cooked the legs up Peri peri style and they were lovely, so tender. All you have to do is marinade in peri Peri sauce, salt, pepper, cayenne and paprika over night (or for a few hours). Sear in a pan with some garlic, a little olive oil and some lemon juice. Then cover with chicken stock and simmer for an hour, or until the meat starts coming away from the bone. Remove and then mix up with more peri Peri and then whack them on the gridal pan or bbq (prob better on bbq) to char them. Bloody lovely.
  2. Thanks. Out of the 13, I prepped 5 whole rabbits. All the rest were just too small but still need to be cleared. The hind legs are about all you can get off these ones. Rest of the carcasses will get devoured by Mr Fox and the kites. O and all the livers were taken too and frozen ready for my next batch of pate
  3. Cheers lads. The scorpion is a great rifle. I bought it second-hand and it already had a trench reg fitted. It the went off to ratworks and has been transformed into an even better setup. I can't ask for anything more from a rifle tbh.
  4. I'll blame it on my phone. Should do now. Cheers
  5. Last night I went out for a bit of rabbit shooting with my ratworks BSA scorpion 177 and had a great night. There's a field on one of my permissions surrounded by woodland and its crop is being hammered this year by the bunnies. There's been a real explosion in the population. All these were shot before last light yesterday evening starting at about 7:45. Most were stalked and a few I lay out in wait for. All shots were between 15 and the longest was lazed at 48 yards. I then spent the next hour or so prepping them All big ones I've prepped whole and the little ones, I just removed their le
  6. It's a draft bill at the moment. Still need time in parliament to be debated/amended and then needs to be voted on. There's still time for Scottish airgunners to fight against this!
  7. Yeah that's true Villaman. Each to their own really. I like the position of the bolt, quicker for hand to come off the trigger, cock bolt, push forward I find. Suppose finding the right gun for you is all about what feels most comfortable and fits you right. Both great guns really. Now the longer days are here I should be using the hw100 more often so my opinions may change.
  8. I think people are misunderstanding my previous post - I didn't say the BSA was the quieter gun overall, I was just comparing the sound of actioning the bolt compared with actioning the side lever when indexing the mag on both guns. Muzzle report with HW mod = HW100 is quieter. My Scorpion has been to XTX for the full tune so he must do something to the hammer mechanism if everyone is saying their BSAs are very noisy. When cocking, both are smooth, I just prefer the BSA bolt action. The BSA cocks quicker and pushing forward is very quick and quiet. The action of pulling the side
  9. Took the hw100 apart today. The previous owner said he hadn't done anything to it and seeing as it's a 2012 model, I thought I'd change all the seals. Wow these are easy to take apart and service. I upgrade the main inlet valve seal to a polyurethane one and replaced the barrel seal, internal valve seals and breech block seals. The reg seal looked good. Shot a 14 shot mag with only a 4fps spread which I like and topped it up to 200 bar and all is seal tight. Next I'll be replacing the hammer spring and valve spring to get rid of that ping sound on firing and removing the anti tampe
  10. This happened Thursday night. The night started off bad, dropped my rifle off the bed onto the floor before I left! My BSA scorpion was in its padded Bsa holdall but still I thought it might affect the zero and it did by about an inch up. Then I took ages resetting the zero because the cattle in the fields seemed intrigued by the sound of the pellet hitting my cardboard target :-( Next I kept spooking the rabbits, the floor was damp and my boots were squidging on the mud. After an hour and a half of pissing around with the zero, avoiding cattle and then spooking all the bunnies,
  11. Nar its awkward I find it. When shooting off the bipod you've got to reach forward to reload the aide lever. The bsa bolt is in a better position so I can reload quicker. Maybe its just I've got used to the bsa bolt. Anyway after shooting it regularly, I might change my mind
  12. Here's the positives and negatives I've noticed with the HW100. Positives Nice mag system - doesn't double load and 14 shots. Feels nice, solid and robust with a nice finish. Smooth trigger action. I like the balance - some people say it's too front heavy but I like it. I like the size and think it's very pointable. Very quiet with HW mod. Looks quite easy to work on - I'm defo fitting a new valve and hammer spring and removing the anti tamper. Only shot it over 25 yards but it seems damn accurate. Negatives I don't like the side lever - the BSA bolt is so much better - quicke
  13. Ps that's not a mark on it, just a bit of shine the flash has left for some reason
  14. Here she is. Will do a full comparison with the scorpion soon. Can't now, I'm off out with the scorpion after some rabbits
  15. O Even before the reg, your T10 should be producing tight groups. When unregged, did you note it's optimum pressure point over it's power curve? You might have also been using pellets it didn't like. Anyway glad it's shooting accuracy now. Regarding your mate's statement - as long as you're happy with its accuracy, that's the main thing. Ask him to have a go to see for yourself. My T10 has a 37 yards zero (using a hawke nighteater scope) which on x9 mag gives me a 1 mildot holdover at 47 yards. I've shot a 5p sized group at 47 yards before on a nice, still summers evening before I wen

  17. I haven't tested the number of shots from the HW100K yet but from what I've been reading, the carbine versions produces between 45 & 50 shots in 177. I'll do a test when the stock arrives. I plan to use it for rabbits during the day and will be fitting a mtc mamba light scope on top of it. I don't think I'll need more than 50 shots to be honest unless the rabbits start breeding like crazy on my permissions.
  18. Well not got the hw100 in a stock yet so can't really make a proper comparison. Will do when I manage to get it out shooting. My T10 doesn't fail me within 45 yards so as long as the hw100 can match that, I'll be happy. First impressions The HW100 feels solid and looks fairly easy to work on as well which I like - llike to be able to service a rifle myself. Power Consistency = HW100 slightly better. Emptied two 14 shots mags yesterday with a 4fps variation. That's the only testing I've done though. I've tested my T10 loads and usually only get at most a 7/8fps variation which is
  19. cheers. Yep its got a tench reg and Rowan engineering trigger fitted. Went to XTX for a tune a year again and has been shooting like a dream ever since.
  20. Didn't go out with the hw100, only have the action so far. Picked up action and stock for £470 posted. Carbine action in 177 flavour arrived yesterday special delivery and its shooting sweet. So smooth and quiet with hw mod. Shoots a v consistent 701fps with jsb heavies (11.2fpe). Kt stock hopefully arriving early next week. It's going to be my daytime setup. Well after testing the hw action out, I grabbed my night time set up - the bsa scorpion 177 topped with the pulsar challenger and headed out. Took one rabbit at about 25yards, stalked it using a fence post as cover.2nd one was taken a
  21. I'm after a HW100KT stock in nice condition. Anyone got going spare and can send pictures? Please pm me.
