  1. No, he belongs a friend who was with me that day. i was with the lad who won the simulated coursing, and we were on about the final, we both said that the final should of been ran after the other dog had rested as it was really hot, because both dogs had ran well and deserved to be in the final, and it should of been ran after the first card of the straight racing, then at least both dogs would of had their chance. it is a shame that they pulled him out but the dogs welfare does come first, anyway all the best for the future .
  2. are you the owner of the dog what was pulled out of the final of the simulated coursing??
  3. is there lurcher racing ,showing and what else is on. thanks
  4. i do run sight hounds and as you say the dog was bred to keep its masters belly full, it still has to chase the quarry to kill it or not in some cases, or is it one of these world beaters , the best thing since sliced bread and all that???, and the judging was something to be desired and thats all i have to say about that .
  5. So the dumbest dog that follows the exact line the lure has run through gates wins Personally i think its a crock of shit & but if folk want to enter then they have to abide to the rule that the judges decision is final, end of May have the wrong end of the stick here but didnt you use to knock about with track racing dogs (whippets I think). Surely chasing stuff quarry or artificial is a case of instinct not inteligence the running cunning bit comes later with experiance JMHO yes i used to have racing whippets, i have had running dogs for the last 21 yrs,all types sha
  6. to tell the truth i would of rather watched the dog course the quarry everywhere it went, as some people will say it is the thrill of the chase that counts or would you rather kill everything that moves ??????????????. i have just come in from lamping with a few mates we took a dog each and killed 11 rabbits, not bad considering the dogs have just started back up and getting ready for the season to begin in full. we coursed about 25-30 rabbits and i thought that was an exellent night considering time of year ,but i can go with ferrets and kill 25-30 every time, but i would rather watch the dog
  7. well if i was out coursing with my dogs the first thing i would do is have it on lead , and secondly i would not double my dog up on 1 hare if it was not good enough to kill it by itself on the vast expanse of the fenns it wouldn,t get kennel space, but i dont go for hares i do pest control on a few local farms and have been lucky enough to use my dog on there and thats enough for me thanks, and we are on about simulated coursing where certain things can be controlled but on the field it is always different as i am sure you will know. thanks
  8. my dog followed the lure and took every bend as it should of and the dog what was in with me just cut across every gate by about 10 yards and beat my dog by about half a head, if there was gates like there should be on simulated coursing it would of been disqualified at the first gate, i am not bothered about getting beat that is the chance you take in racing, but dogs that are cutting across like that should be disqualified
  9. So the dumbest dog that follows the exact line the lure has run through gates wins Personally i think its a crock of shit & but if folk want to enter then they have to abide to the rule that the judges decision is final, end of well it is called simulated coursing for a reason and as you have quoted, the dumbest dog follows the exact line the lure has run through gates wins ( thats what it is all about ) but apart from that it is a bit of exercise for the dogs, and as we get closer to the end of the year my dog and my friends dog will get their fair share of rabbits of my p
