I have quail at home thAt I use for training.ill just put the dog on the long line and make it sit while the birds are knocking about on the ground. It's also worth joining a club or starting training with someone so you can get the use of their rabbit pen. I know what a nightmare it can be and a rogue springer can soon ruin a drive when it come the the season

hi,looking for a springer bitch pup to work with my other dogs beating,picking up and rough shooting,must be small stamp, dont mind if its black and white or liver and white,must be docked and dew clawed and from good working lines and well worked parents,will wait for right pup but this side of christmas preferred. based in sheffield but will travel for the right dog.

just take it and get stuck in, at one point me and my mate were travelling all over beating and im yet to get a real bolloking off a keeper and iv had a few pups do daft stuff,if your unsure just pop lead on her,its always the same story....can you come beating here? its sound but the head keepers a bit of a handfull,sod it. youll be reyt!

i was talking to a bloke round our way a few years back that had a 1st x and said it was a [BANNED TEXT] handfull of a dog.had a few problems with it but never seen the 3/4 cross

we picked one up from a lad in wrexham a few years back,was a decent little fast dog for ferreting and even the odd long ears in the day but it got killed,mikes dogs were strong healthy well priced ped whippets around that time and if i was buying a whippet i wouldnt hesitate in buying one.

the fawn dog on the left in my sig pic is saluki grey bull grey,was a handy dog in his day,no world beater but was fast and powerfull and would get stuck in,getting on now and a few health issues, (for the record that was a shot and retrived fox
) and as for feet that dog had feet like a cat,very tight and decent,as suggested above,probably from the saluki blood -

i know what i would do if my mrs told me i could only have a gs, not saying they wont do a bit of retriving and what not but they arnt exactly the 1st choice from your average shooting man.tell her to move in with a copper if she likes guard dogs and get your self a lab.or even better a cocker

iv had a couple of fourtracks and they are excellent,bomb proof but you cant be too careful about the rot,really get stuck in when looking it over or it could end up costing you a fortune in welding but if you get a good one you wont be disapointed!

end of the day bob said he would take the dog back,it was around 8-10 months old when he sold it and it was sold with a guarentee which i witnessed which was "if you dont get on with the dog bring it back for a full refund" he dint want the dog getting passed around at all,terrierman mark and terrier2011... you arnt fooling anyone,its the same person and you told me 2 weeks ago that you sold the dog because it tried to go to ground,iv still got the pm,then you say that you tried to get it too and it wouldnt,theres no need to make stories up or whatever....enjoy the dogs you have and the sport you get from them whatever it is and buy the dogs which will suit you style,i have no doubt that that dog would have made the bushing dog that you said that you wanted but walking round rat wood where there isnt any rabbits for a young bushing terrier to hunt and catch is hardly the start it needed.

if theres pics then good luck to the lad but when he lived down our end didnt keep digging 2 weeks ago he didnt keep digging dogs and then he comes on here telling all these cracking tales of 6 foxes in 1 field on the lamp and setts that we all dream about.like i said he bought the dog with the dog and bob sed he would have the dog back if he couldnt get on with it,he only chrged him £50 because he was spose to be going to a permant working home.

you might catch more bunnys working this dog in bramble etc,a botting bunny is sometimes too quick for a fast little lurcher never mind a staff but it woant hert to break him to ferrets and just take him out and show him the ropes,the more time you spend with the dog the easier it will be to train.

THIS LAD IS FULL OF SHIT,i can tell you that me and bob 123 took him a lakey russel dog some time last year called rusty,i asked the lad 2 weeks ago if he still had the dog and he said he had sold it because it wanted to go to ground and he didnt keep digging dogs he only wanted it for bushing,he also had a brindle bullx pup that he got rid of because it wasnt going to be any good for rabbits,story teller,im not been a prick or trying to bring this lad down but i think we have our next bryan plummer!!! atvb

Then you'll know how he is, I can't understand why lads are taking other peoples word for the way dogs are bred, then saying they are no good when it's easy enough to go straight to the man himself.
Seems that like Barbour coats these days there's a lot of fakes out there!
seems to me like a lot have herd this and "seen that" theres a lot of reece bred dogs out there and a lot that have been out crossed to different lines etc.im sure if you can cath up with him at a show he will be more than willing to put people streight on whats what because its all hear say and to the lads that have genuinly seen the genuin reece dogs fail thats fair enough theres good and bad in all lines but theres also too much bull shit on here.

An old cocker bitch my dad keeps has had an ear infection for a few years now. Had all the treatments and now he just cleans it every day and tries to keep it something like. Vet said once they start they are very difficult to get rid of.
