    That's just plain awful. You have my sympathies, it's always hard to lose a dog, any dog, but most especially it's tough when it's one that's particularly close to you.

    Hi bez, Frustrating when they don't come running back~yet so rewarding a feeling when they do~at least that's how I've felt with Flay. From the age of about 6 months till he was a year & a half if he saw another dog away in the distance he'd run off to it & turn completely deaf to me. Eventually I got around him by, much as folks say in this thread~rewarding him for when he did come back & ignoring the bad behaviour, the ignoring thing I took to use as a tool~Flay HATES to be ignored, so for the times when he just wouldn't come & I had to goto him, on those occassio

    Now that is a complete rip off, you could feed yourself for less. Surely feed raw meat and you could cook your own cheapo rice to go with it would be half the price and be better for the dog. Hi shepp, better for the dog? He has difficulty in digesting food, if he gets anything other than the stuff he's on(the rice etc contained in it has been partially broken down) it causes inflamation of his lower intestinal tract, causing him no end of bother, he drops weight & has mucus running from his bottom.     I had to try a few foods before I found the right one, Flay has colitis & the only thing that keeps any weight on him is Hills, prescription I/D, at around £70 per 14Kg bag it's a bit expensive but worth every penny as long as it continues to work for him.

    Hi Butch, I don't know any of the local farmers, but I could approach one to ask~I've no idea where to begin though, I'm going to need a bit of pointing the the right direction ~does the dog just get on with it?~do I have to do anything? I think I'd be better attending some lure coursing events to see what's what initially, I'm also aware(as my previous post probably shows all too well) that I'm somewhat overly protective of Flay, although I've had dogs before, they've all come to me later on in life either as rescued animals or by way of coming as a package deal(with boyfriend), Flay is

    Cheers for the warm welcome. maltenby~rabbits you say, I'd rather send The Boy after a lure to be honest, I have no qualms about rabbits being caught but I do have it in my head that running after a lure is safer for my dog. Maybe once I've had more experience of such things I'll feel differently, I'm willing to keep an open mind.

    Hi, I have a 3 & a half year old Lurcher(GreyhoundXCollie) & would like to start getting him involved in lure coursing &/or Lurcher racing but have no experience, & don't know of anyone working their similar dogs in my area. We're on the East coast of Central Scotland. I'd be greatful for any help, advice & information as to how to get started. Thanks.

    Hi folks, I'm Alma(the banner in my signature probably explains me best), very proud owner of (The Boy)Flay, he's a most handsome young(3 & a half years) Lurcher~GreyhoundXCollie, & as you've probably already guessed, the light of my life(that's right I have no kids lol). As you'd expect Flay loves to run, he especially enjoys the local beaches(we live on the East coast of Scotland) & is a keen swimmer also, in the better/warmer weather he has a swim in the sea every morning. He's content chasing & fetching a ball, or running with other dogs, however, I get the feeling
