  1. Thanks wildhorse. I realistically do not have loads of money to spend right now. I am an associate member, which means 3 trips a year plus any days I buy separately, so I am looking at maybe 6-7 trips to the marsh a year or so. I was hoping I could get something with £250-£300 or so. Hatsans seem to be ~£300-£450 depending on what you go for. I was thinking of going for a 3 1/2 inch 12bore. Cammo seems to make the gun more expensive, so I think I will just go black synthetic. What sort of price would be a good price?
  2. As some of you might be aware, this year is my first as an associate member for Morecambe Bay Wildfowling Association. I get three free passes a year (Sept-Oct, Nov-Dec, Jan-Feb) and on Sunday morning I used the first one. I arrived at Cockerham marsh at 05.15 to meet the five full members who were to accompany and supervise me. We got changed in our waders and headed up to our posts. No decoys, just waiting for the wildfowl to show up. As soon as we arrived there were some ducks flying from inland but we were nowhere near being ready for them so they went passed. I got to my post and load
  3. Sean, where was that? Which marsh? I am off to cockerham in the next couple of weeks and need to know which car park to avoid. Is it the same one we went on the work party day?
  4. Seriously wireviz. Give it a rest. Have you not heard of some people ageing with dignity? Don't you want to join them? Please, this is getting ridiculous. Clearly your demeanour has upset a few people and annoyed many more. Just give it a rest. Enough is enough...
  5. I hope this time I will not be the one holding the rubber chicken up.....
  6. After all this, I bought myself an approved used Land Rover Freelander 2 2.2 TD4 HSE I loved the car on first sight. Drives very similar to the X5 and comes with loads of luxuries (leather, sat nav, bluetooth, cd changer, climate control etc). Anyone had any experience of them at all? I enclose a picture of car with specs. I deliberately left the price on there, so you can tell me if I got a good offer, to your opinion. I part exchanged my mini cooper s and got £10,750 off the price of the Freelander.
  7. I once again ask for your help, good people of hunting life. I have decided to change my mini cooper s (which I only bought two and a half months ago) as my wife and I are having our first child and need something more accommodating for a young family. I was ready to buy a Toyota Prado or a Mitsubishi Pajero (as you can see I wanted an import as oposed to a land cruiser or a shogun) for my shooting but the situation has changed. So I need a car that will be a. safe for a pregnant mother and her baby (when, God willing it comes) b. offer plenty of space c. Be reasonable off road
  8. Mo, next time we are comming back with a truckload worth of deer! Keep believing.
  9. Talented photographer, whoever took those!
  10. Hallo all. I have just been accepted as an associate member in MBWA. So I was wondering if there are any other members (full or associate) in the forum. Just to say hallo really....

  14. Hallo mate. I live in Lytham St Annes and work in Lancaster. Nice to see you here!
  15. Yes Mo. I followed your advice (thanks again) and fried it with some garlic. GREAT! Seriously, please do not think twice about this guy. He was trying to intimidate us and not show up again. I reckon things are nowhere as bad as he said. He just wanted to scare us off. As I told you on the day, people like him and his friend ought to get a real job. I mean, how pathetic is it to obtain as many permissions in an area so you lock newcomers out and then ask for £100 so they can shoot in 'their land'? Who is he to tell you what you are allowed to do in someone else's property? Forget ab
  16. I reckon you should ignore him as he most likely is making things sound much worse than they are. Or take a big Greek with you!
  17. Hallo all! I am new to the forum and I am new to shooting in general. I own a Miroku MK70 Grade 1 O/U 12g game shotgun. At the moment I am enjoying clay pigeon shooting and trying -without much success unfortunately- to get a permission to a field for a bit of wood pigeon shooting. I am also hoping to get into wildfowling. At the moment in the waiting list for Morecambe Bay Wildfowlers. Anyone around here that would not mind me tagging along? Is anyone here willing to show me the ropes? I live in Lytham St Annes, on the Ribble Estuary.
