  1. ive been using it since i had my first ferret over fifteen years ago and mine have never came to any harm.even the pre packed stuff bought from pet shops still contains dust.just leave youre ferrets out of their cages for a while after cleaning and adding new sawdust.this gives everything a chance to settle and the dust to clear

I've used the last of mine today and also padlocked up my hutch, just waiting for a pole cat hob now then you can look after the babies in your many hutches you can have some of this sawdust ive got here mate.and if you need a hob polecat for breeding purposes i can sort you one of those asell
  3. have you not got any saw mills round youre way.i get mine from there by the bail and it costs me nothing.saying that i go in and shoot his feral pigeons for him.these are normally the best places as the will normally give/sell you as much as you can carry

  5. keep knocking on doors mate,myself and john-b had the same problem.we were ferreting local and decided enough was enough.we put a full day in knocking on every door we came across and we finally got on three farms.i can honestly say this bloke is having youre life.try elsewhere mate and see what you can come up with
  6. a couple of shots of our permission.this first one is where i lost my two jills.im standing on top of the sett. first rabbit of the day and connor looking really happy with himself a couple of the old dog ferret sally marking up.we bolted a rabbit out of this embankment sett but she was telling us there was another one at home.sure enough there was the baldy backed rabbit i mentioned in my post.te old feret stuck at it til it was dug to john,saly and bouncer with the final bag and finally connor,the poor little bugger must of found it hard going and dec

  8. we have worked him on some big setts aswell mate.we found the jills couldnt shift some of the rabbits and were getting kicked about so when this was happening he was entered and soon got them on the move.its worth its weight in gold.im just hoping the young hob ends up with the same working qualities as him
  9. where i will be able to purchase the sticker for a 15ft locator box wheel or will ihave to buy a new wheel its self.the sticker has perished today after a good few years service.any help greatly appreciated
  10. the two jills i lost didnt scratch the coat off the rabbits but they wouldnt shift out until everything was out and they never killed to ground.im hoping i can say the same for the two new ones ive just got in.but if yesterdays antics are anything to go by i can see a lot of digging coming our way
  11. it does it all the time brimmer mate.we had one a month or so from our local patch.myself and john dug down about four foot again.sally is standinat an entrance hole going mad.i had a look down and the feret was backing off then going at it again.i got the ferret out and pulled the rabbit out.half of the fur on its back had gone but the rabbit was still alive.all the other hob ferrets ive had have been out and out killers,but this one isnt
  12. had a canny day and a good laugh.arrived at the permission at about 8 o clockto be greeted by quite a bit of white stuff .myself,john and connor got all the gear out of the van and headed off.after trudging through about three foot of snow,falling over god knows how many times we arrived at the first sett.i took my old hob and its son,the young hob is in experienced so i thought id take it and give him a go.after netting up the sett the best we could i entered the young hob.he wasnt to ground long before the squealing started.the ferret was to ground ages and i thought it had killed the rabbi
  13. well in brimmer mate ,myself john and my eldest lad are out in the morning up on our permission to work the large sett on the river bank and then were goint to have a go and see if we can get on the surrounding farms.update tomorrow

All fuel is paid for mate courtesy of SKY up to 750 personal miles a month on the fuelcard More money towards more nets and stuff though got the two jills mate and theyre no bother,also scored for a new ferret box aswell.ive had a bit craic on with the bloke this morning...he kindly informed me he has just sold a brand new mk3 with two collars and sixteen hempnets for 65 quid,and if he knew i was in the market for one he would have done it to me for a it cheaper,thats p***ed right on my clogs
  18. well im pleased to say ive got my " MOJO" back....hahahaha,i cant wait to get back out,and im looking forward to tomorrow to get my hands tore to bits again off these jills ,the joys of ferreting
  19. lesson has been learned mate,we wont be going anywhere near those setts again,no matter how many rabbits are in them,were going to stick to the smaller setts regardless of wether we get rabbits or not,well thats until we manage to save our pocket money up enough to buy a jcb,lol
  20. well,ive been out with john-b tonight,in the space of an hour or so weve managed to get a brand new mk3 locator with two collars,some more purse nets and two new jill ferrets.im going to have my work cut out with the new jills as they are the sisters to the huge sandy ive got.theyve never been handled or been anywhere near a sett,so the challenge is set ( again ).ive got to get them tamed up and hopefully grafting before the season ends and breeding starts.im picking the ferrets up in the morning...happy days

  22. we had a bit of a problem after losing my two jill ferrets and one of the locator collars,leaving us with a single collar ans two decent ferrets.our problems may be solved tonight as we are going to have a look at a new locator box and im also buying the lads three jills off him.so we are back up to full swing if all goes according to plan

  24. RESULT .......youve finally bagged a couple and about time aswell.well done.youre gonna have to learn how to dispatch rabbits quickly mate.ive had two rabbits netted up and had to catch another that was bolting at the same time.it was far from easy but i managed ,fooking funny to watch aswell
  25. i wouldnt worry about it too much as long as its in no discomfort.a ferret uses its nose and ears when underground anyway as their eyesight isnt he best.as long as its eating and drinking ok i wouldnt worry too much about it
