    Hi whippeter69, Instead of calling you names i'll explain why people are saying you shouldnt be lamping hares. Hares are included in the legal definition of game. It is illegal to use any firearm or gun of any description for the purposes of taking game at night. Hares,as game are also not to be taken on Sundays and Christmas day. However the ground game act overides the game act and permits the shooting of hares at night, so really the best argument for or against shooting Hares is how many are on your patch and how much damage they are doing to crops etc. The trouble is sportsmen view

    Hi, Weihrauch dont produce a larger mag for the .17hmr, this is mainly to do with the rounds dimensions and problems with the feed if the mag was any longer. they do an 8 shot for the .22lr though. If you try and force 5 rounds in too many times it will weaken the mags spring. You can only fit 4 rounds in the mag on the .17hmr, the only way to get 5 shots is to replace the empty mag with a full one when the last round is chambered, this is the only way to get 5 shot capacity.     The weihrauch works better for you beacause it is designed to take away the sound of the slower pellet and air leaving the barrel but the fac silencer has to deal with hot gasses and the higher velocites that an bullet rifle produces. dont try using the weihrauch on the fac thou, they dont cope well.

    yh i think ur best off going for a Hawk. But does your gun ricocha a lot because if it does then get a night Hawk. You mean does it recoil as a ricochet won't affect the scope whatsoever.??? I have a hawke on me .22lr cz and never had any problems with zero. as long as you buy the best mounts you can afford shouldnt have any problems, at least I havent.

    Sound advice already given so i wont repeat whats been said but try to find out if anyone else has previosly had police approval for your new patches. If someone else has already had approval for certain calibres on there it should make it easeir to get approval.

    Some of the Hawke range of scopes are pretty good performers at night but as with anything you get what you pay for. you should get a decent one for around £70 ish. any cheaper than this and using it at night at extended ranges might be a problem.
