How much road work should. you do weekly as in time/miles?? jogging/walking?? with a 9 month old whippet to get it fit and ready to start a little work when its about 11-12 months.......

Just got a Whippet, She is Gt Granddaughter to Lord of The Knight and Sooty Sam, also Laguna in her, from what i hear they were good dogs, anybody know much about them?? She is 8 months now, any advice on training her would be great!
