We are looking for a summer worker, to start immediately, to take part in all aspects of game rearing from egg collecting to release to wood. Must be able to work alongside a hardworking team. It would be valuable experience for anyone hoping to get into keepering. Must be local to Lockerbie as there is no accommodation with job.
Please pm me with phone no. For an informal chatAndy

I do like those older BSAs
....... For me, I think that's a damn near perfect shape for a break barrel. I love the way the metalwork sweeps down into the handle and, that the front of the stock covers the cocking link (Weihrauch should take note )
Get some pictures up of it's groupings mate
It's an underlever not a break barrel

This is what the antis don't see. That left alone, the countryside isn't in balance and many of our diminishing songbirds would be very much more diminished.
One of the biggest problems around where I live is magpies because no one is controlling them. Put food out for certain birds, and it's not unusual to have 10 magpies in the garden within minutes. If each one is paired with a female (or is female) and each one lays at least 1 egg in a local songbird nest, then that's at least 10 songbird nests locally that are going to have no youngsters. In a small area, that's a lot of birds effectively not breeding and why we have so few songbirds left. The antis need to escape away from urban legend and animal rights propaganda and wake up to how the countryside really functions and how it's out of balance and need careful control.
Anyway, nice shot!
Are you talking magpies or cuckoos laying in other nests?

That's the first time I've ever heard anyone say the t bolt has a sweet trigger. My mate bought a 22lr t bolt and the trigger is awful. He's even fitted an extra trigger to double the leverage on it. There are petitions on the web trying to get the aftermarket trigger boys to come up with an answer to no avail. Let's hope browning have come to their senses and fitted a better trigger on the newer rifles like yours seems to have.

It was a while before it stopped still enough but stop it did lol

Sat around my sons pens at release time last year and he tipped deer guts out in open areas to draw them. It worked a treat. I shot 14 over the week I was there. We've also shot them over fallen stock, sheep, in the past.
Andy
PS he put the bait out a couple of days before I arrived
PPS. I have the advantage of a thermal imager for spotting and a dedicated nv scope. You'd probably be okay with a lamp if you don't mind long shots, and you can range find everything in daylight and make a mental note of ranges to various points.

I clean my centre fire mods occasionally in the sonic cleaner. Don't clean anything else at the same time though. It's like washing coloureds and whites together.

Doesn't have to be the same calibre. I once swapped 22wmr for a moderator, on a one for one variation

My lad has had his 270 done, trigger breaks nicely, but real heavy pull. So much so, that he can't group it anything like he used to with the original trigger. He's saving for a timmey or similar.

Out lamping abit ago with a red filtered lamp amd came across a green pair of eyes, any ideas what it was?
If you shine a lamp with a red filter at anything, you will get a red reflection. Shine a lamp with no filter and you will get a true colour back. Green eyes with no filter is more often than not, a cat.

Is clives front lens supported George?? the above will be a older model then.
That's right, Andy.
The HTH-751 and HTH-752 are both unsupported. All of Clive's models are the new incarnation and have supported front lens.
George
Have you got a link to one of these supported lens models of Clives? I've got a couple of his SDN6's and they don't seem to be supported anywhere.

Hi all, anyone know what's happened to the above, or where to now find it. Thanks Andy

dont want to be apain but reading your post you did shoot the hare before it got dark not on lamp
Try looking up the code of practice for lamping hares on the BASC website.
You might be surprised if you think it's illegal.

Hi, Thanks very much for the offer, i'm over for the Midland Game Fair, 18-19 sept, i lived in stanground for 34 years and cornwall for 2, Dont worry i dont get bored easily and will find Nightvision hunting fascinating. Are you from Peterborough? I'll keep in touch.
I live near Coates, but work mostly in Pboro, our office is in Stanground. Should be plenty of foxes around in Sept. after harvest. We've shot 87 since 1st August this year. Look forward to meeting you.
