    CAN ANYONE HELP. 2 DOGS WERE STOLEN FROM BISHOP AUCKLAND AREA SATURDAY 13TH JUNE 2009. ONE WAS A 14 YEAR OLD PURE SALUKI ANSWERS TO THE NAME OF FAIRBOY AND THE OTHER A 2 YEAR OLD SALUKI, BEDLINGTON, WIPPET, SANDY COLOUR AND COURSE HAIRED ANSWERS TO THE NAME OF SUNNY. THE SALUKI IS MAINLY RED GRIZZLE IN COLOUR WITH WHITE, HE IS ON VARIOUS MEDICATIONS OF WHICH HE REQUIRES DAILY. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION OF THE WHEREABOUTS OF THESE DOGS PLEASE CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY VIA THIS FORUM OR RING 07833314448.

    Yes salukis can be trained for competing in these activities and yes some people do this, i personally dont but others do. People buy dogs for all reasons and i registered them on the activity register to give people extra options if they wish to compete in these activities. It is entirely upto them what they do with there dogs. Salukis often take part in dog shows where these events take place.

    Salukis are regarded as one of the oldest if not the oldest breed of dog, they were bred for hunting gazelle in the middle east. Back in ancient times saluki were regarded as sacred by the egyptians, gold statues were unearthed in tombs of the kings. Muslims believe them to be a gift from Allah and were not sold but given away to freinds and family. However this isnt ancient times and im not in the middle east so unfotunately there is a price attached to mine.     hi deano did you manage to find a saluki? I had a litter of 8, i sold them for £450 each (including the bitch) with kc activity papers, could have got a lot more. I will be having a couple of litters in spring 2009, one litter with full kc papers and one litter with kc activity papers. Father of the pups is Fair Boy (son of cruise) here is a photo of the 2 pups we kept.
