  2. I can imagine ? ending up looking 4 inches taller with the mud on the bottom of your boots and slipping on any incline and looking like youve just  fell in a mud pool mate , that's a normal ferreting trip matey?

    You are some clever lads!

On a similar note, I have a lovely oak table but it has a few dents in it, I'm told that heat/water may help bring it back.  Anyone help me with some ideas how to do it, Thanks!

I've brought a few dents up on rifle stocks in the past with a iron and damp cloth ?it has to be dents though as it is only compressed wood  and not scratches or chunks out that way only filling will sort it out .

  4. Yep you're not alone ? I've 8 (3 have not long been out and 5 young jills from last year ) in season they all  live in a shed no light no windows in the shed only artificial light is the one I put on when I go in to see to them very early indeed saying that I had 2 that came in last Jan but the rest were fine .

  5. It would be a sad world if we couldn't help each other ☹️ I've noticed on here there's a lot of good honest people willing to lend a hand or do something for someone regardless of what it is or how long it takes  ,even if they haven't met before and that's how true  friendships are formed ?.Them are the genuine people you need in your lives and a little bit of kindness goes a long way in my eyes?.

  10. Talking to a fella last year ,he buys the small metal pedal bins  takes the pedal and components out  it which enables  feed to come out  and attaches plywood to the bottom  puts wood on the back to attach to trees also finishes them off by spraying.Looked good but I,ll stick with the wood ones there cheaper for me ?

  11.  There's loads about this year must have been a bumper breeding season ,you see more dead along the roads now than rabbits where we go and places we've thinned right out the numbers will be back up  soon judging by the amount of squirrels I've seen running around them ?

  12. Must be different areas then Phil? ,we often see maize on the floor but it's all nibbled on the end and apart from that everything is taking  . The feeders we have are in between pheasant feeders and I've seen them run past them to get to the boxes .These are topped up regular even now we're ferreting so we can drop back on whenever we like the keeper tells me when they need topping up?

  13. That's the b&m peanuts I find them a bit broken up and get them if I can't get my normal ones  ,home bargains is the place I get mine from although the squirrels don't mind them b&m ones  but imo home bargains are better quality and I mix mine with cheaper feed it makes them last longer also I put a few capfulls of attractant in mine  ?,plus home bargains do packs of monkey nuts which are cheaper than others a few of them on the  box will draw them in too.Thats the mix I use ,?

  14. That's what it's all about  1 or 100 ,it don't matter it's about being out in the fresh air and enjoying it ?.I do know you've either got a understanding Mrs or she's not in ,mine would be going on about the pigeon on the clean worktop untill at least next year ?.

  15. That's the joy of ferreting and it can be frustrating to someone just learning the ropes  seeing  decent looking holes all  freshly dug out and signs of activity everywhere to find nothing at home.eeve all been there The rabbits might have been deeper than your ferrets were going , with them being inexperienced and just learning the ropes like yourself you will all get there in the end the more you go out  ?.Like it's been said get out with someone if you can if you were up here you,d be more than welcome to come out with us for a few hours .

  16. What batteries are they? I always use silver oxide watch batteries  (if there cheaper ones it may be the problem )in all my collars both 393 for the older mk 3 and 394  for the magnetic collars  and never had a problem  use the decent batteries for the finder too the newer boxes will pick up electrical interference from all sorts in the house so try it outside ?
