ive got a ferret finder 3, changed the batteries few times with fresh ones, changed he collar but still foesnt work. when i turn it on it makes that odd bleep

I am new to hunting I need to get some ferret stuff for my polecats. my ferret finder doesn't work and my worry is that my ferrets would get lost down the rabbit hole. can someone help?
