  1. hard work and more time watching quarry and flight lines etc than shooting certainly helped but we got amongst them this year with only one blank flight its been good but im glad its over its been a long old season with beating and picking up every saturday and on the shore every sunday was hard work but well worth it
  2. ive had what could be said as a good season with plenty of duck about all year but there seamed to be weekly fluctuations in duck species but the main stay were widgeon with alot of teal about but lower numbers of pintail just done my duck returns for grange and district wildfowlers were ive done most of my shooting and ive shot 57 duck 3 greylag but my duck total for the season is over 100 and 21 geese

  4. im not sure its to do with feed we had loads of mallard following when we started too get alot of teal the mallard started to dissapear i reckon the teal bully the other ducks of as they are greedy angry little gits as soon as the teal did the off the mallard returned

  6. ill say im out every sunday rain shine whether its worth going or not as long as im out and about seeing whats about you learn more on the marsh than sat at home watching the box whether you shoot owt or not
  7. i was out sunday a couple of grey lag in the bag but the ducks seem too have done the off but the pinks are on there way back from dwn south

  11. its good goose land around pilling the pnks have returned to southport this last couple of weeks back at martin mere this is where the sky high geese youve seen will be heading i guess there is thousands dwn there
  12. sounds more plassible the pinks have started to return this last few days but ducks still seem scarce to what was anyway arnt all wildfowling trip an adventure

  14. i was talking to a keeper who has good contacts around the world being one of the royals keepers he was saying that with the eupoean climate being much milder this year a large percentage of migratory wildfowl have yet to travel to our shores i wasnt sure if there was any truth in this as we had more widgeon on in morcambe bay 3 weeks ago than the last 20 years but they have now moved on which isnt normal but in the last week more pintail have turned up so im a bit unsure has anyone herd similar or are there duck numbers lower than average or higher etc any opinions welcome cheers

  17. there has been more pinks arriving all day, i have been talking to a mate he reckons there has been about 10,000 come fresh in today . they are dissapering as fast up here as they are arriving dwn there by the sounds of it ill have to concentrate on the duck for a bit

  19. 4.30 did you sleep in up hear you want to be out of bed at 3 on marsh by 4 at least it was freezing not wet muddy and cold the more you go the more it will mess with your head and start making you love it long hot walks out to the mud freezing cold waits for the chance of a odd shot here and there but even if you see or shoot nowt you will see the world awakening each and every time you go awesome and couldnt be swapped for me anyway welcome aboard you will never leave

Yet to meet them on a flight. your welcome to come down here and have a flight in morecambe bay with us plenty of pins about and the nxt couple of wks will start to show alot more
