Hello mate if you are looking at getting a patterdale for some bushwork for rabbits with the ferrets it is a waste. A patterdale is a working terrier one that works to ground to fox not for rabbits if you think fox higher and rabbit is at the lower level. Most dogs (pet dogs) will easily pick up the skills to hunt rabbits. But its up to you mate Patterdale78
