  1. right heres some pics of the litter they are only 6 weeks sat are feeding well all bold pups the choc is spoken for by a keeper friend i shoot with (hes seen the father work) and the lighter of the two lemons also sold to a freind who owns a dog from the previous same mating he beats and flys a goshawk

  5. i have been feeding a splash on an estuary marsh with barley and peelings with the intention of shooting evening flights into it,now theres mallard and widgeon about with the teal comming in later, my question is: would you advise putting both mallard and widgeon deeks on the slpash (i have both) will both species decoy in regardless should i mix up the pattern or seperate the species on the water if advised to use both?? this will be my second season fowling last season being a reckie really with me getting used to the tides,gutters etc etc, i will try and post some pics if i get
  6. very very nice write up Wag,a good dog as you know is worth its wieght in gold,you are remmembering the good times you had with jess and thats priceless. i am currently fowling(small scale) on an estuary with a strong young cocker and already in his first season i have fond memories,i hope to have many more like yours and jess R.I.P.   8. i must add i have seen NO sign of myxi in my permissions!!! someone mentioned time and milage....i too put plenty of that in!!! jay
  9. musn't forget the rest of the team. i alternate between the dogs to rest em up and the old ESS is semi retiered. i also have a young vizsla that i will bring on to point on the fern banks just to slow things up a bit as you know what spaniels are like, sometimes they bump bunnies and the hawk is out of position. jay
  10. i will try and get some nice action shots as the season progresses and ad them to the thread.as you can see there are two hawks in shot in the second pic as i get out with a mate and his male from time to time. jay
  11. a slower start this season due to commitments to the dogs pulling my female harris a little later than i usually do however were off the mark and she has bagged numerous rabbit and her first rook,rabbit numbers arn't great this year and the dogs work hard to provide a slip, i try not to ferret if i can help it as most of the time i hawk alone. i'd have to check but this is the birds 6th or 7th season, she knows her stuff when it comes to rabbit. we fly woodland,sand-dunes,and fern and gorse laden hillsides wher she will soar in high wind over the dogs. some of this years shots when the
