  1. Or ask if they can silence it p.s. sorry for reviving an old topic i could resist this one tho
  2. Sorry to revive an old topic but i just wanted to say my brocock's pump etc has returned from the gunsmiths and all i can say is wow bit of a difference i know they have walther barrels but that extra bit of power is doing wonders for longer range accuracy ive now add a sling stud and rockmount bipod to round it off and its become a real tack driver well please. Only draw back is the silencer isnt really as silent as it was theirs a very audible hiss from the extra pressure but its worth it. Brocock you lot are legends
  3. Lol overkill on a poor bison dont you think nice rifle tho a real classic that is one of the first airguns i ever had the fortune to shoot with
  4. yeah i seen it its nice but these are about 2-4 times more powerfull than even the career, The career is the most powerfull mass production big bore just under 200 ft lbs but if im going to the bother of importing i wanted the best ergo these hand made beauties
  5. wont get many shots per charge with it. plus i dont think you would get it for fox on ticket because shooting rabbits with it would just mash them up. not only that bud i no its only fac air but it would be alot harder for you to let the firarms office from your area to grant you that as it is still a high cal slug and would be treated in the same way as a centrefire to get. if that s the case just get a centrefire they dont run out of air just make sure 1st if they did say you could have it. the cost to ship it over and transfer fac rifles is very dear to do to so would the cost be wor
  6. I was considering importing one of these monsters to the uk my firearms enquiry officer says it should be fine as range have approved etc was toying between a Quakenbush outlaw http://www.quackenbushairguns.com/LA_Outlaw.htm or a Gargoyle http://www.bgmfairguns.com/gargoyle.html with walnut thumb hole stock What do you guys think and which one would you have given the choice?
  7. Tell you what if he could really kill a bird rabbit ...in fact any game species (rodents included) at 250 meters (being 825ft) with a pellet from a 12ftlbs air rifle i wouldnt just buy him a pint id buy him the bar aswell. The only way i can think tat he could kill any animal at that range with that gun is if he had arms like a gorilla and threw the gun at it and somehow managed to get a hit. at 250 meters he's even going out of 22 rimfire range for effective killing (note i said going out not gone out i concede it is possible to kill at 250 meters with a rim fire probably not very respon
  8. Speaking of identifying species do we reckon this supposed mate is the greater or lessor spotted bullshitter...my bet is on the greater as as per my penguin book of quarry "the greater spotted bullshitter can be disguised by his more obvious smell and its poor eyesight/judgement which explains its ludicrous claims and exagerations of the truth"
  9. Im after the same thing i had some luck with a syndicate best thing ask around at your gun club, also if you wait until the rape etc has been planted around the farms you will almost certainly get atleast temporary permission to shoot the wood pigeon etc if you ask the farms as they come in their hundreds around then.
  10. Yeah i bet he does decline to join...i bet his fac app reason went something like this....(int he words of matt lucas) "Shut up what yer need a reason for! chantelle said that matt said his second girlfriends cousin got the herps and they didnt have a license"
  11. According to a gunsmith at brocock the cartridges are recommended to be charged to 232 bar and would "easily reach 12ft lbs when using the slim jim charger" however he also said "the cartridges if in perfect order could hold upto 300 bar and were capable of 14 ftlbs!!!" . From my own expereince this would be difficult however i am planning on visiting the gentleman in question for a tune up on my brocock and he will be showing me how to get to this 14 ft lbs using a chrono he did say using diablo pellets (im guessing some pellets get stuck on the lip of the cartridges if too big). As far
  12. Personally i beleive him....i mean its possible he could have hit and killed a duck at 300 yards with a pellet from a 12ft lbs ...im guessing he just shot the air rifle then quickly got up ran along making a neeeeaaaaaahhhh noise then picked the pellet from the floor where it landed (about 120 yards away) crept upto a duck t@#ted it over the head with the rifle butt then repeatedly hammered the pellet into its chest with said same rifle butt until it was dead...
  13. Heres a pic looks alot like a 22 rim or centre fire if you dont know what your looking at...that and the fact that they are allegedly easy to convert (i wouldnt want to try and fire one that was) was why they were banned under section 5
  14. Hi all im lucky enough to own one of the brocock safari's on an FAC and wanted to get an idea what quaries i could shoot with it (ie would it be upto the job of taking a rabbit etc) and what kind of ranges i can expect clean kills from.. Any tips or hints on how to best squeeze as much power as possible outta the sucker would be appreciated (hardly matters if it goes over 12ft lbs now does it) as far as ammunition goes im using bisley magnums altho ive been advised by brocock to try air arms diablo hunters (the rifle is .22 for those not familiar with it). Many thanks look forward to
