  1. i fed my spaniels on minced chicken carcasses for a while and found the shite rock solid , to the point they found it difficult to pass. i beleive it might be due to the high calcium content in the bones, i got this stuff real cheap in 12"x15" blocks fed all my dogs for a week on £2.50. can anyone tell me if i can add something to the feed to help with the rock hard shit.
  2. hi there i must agree with ESS about the collars, if you take the dog to an enclosed space I.E a tennis court or fenced area let him scamper about a while then give him the recall whistle. if he doesn't return get after him then give him a sharp tug towards you with the whistle 3-4 times. sit him up move away about 10yrd and recall him . this will work much better than a collar as he will soon realise when you don't use the collar and revert back to bad habits. Its all about consistancy. good luck
  3. how much do you think is fair, and we can go from there.
  4. as Quail are not native to Britain you aren't suppose to release them just incase they carry a disease foreign to our wildlife , so they are supposed to be captive birds As for shooting them the only quail any good for this are Bobwhite as the others tend to be pretty poor flyers as they are prodominately breed for aviaries or food.
  5. someone must be subsidising the syndicate or at least rearing the birds as the birds would cost almost that amount without feed sounds to good to be true. me and three friends buy day olds 300 pheasants 200 partridge, and we pay £400 a year that includes all food for the season.
  6. hi there i have incubated bob white and cortinux quail with good sucess the cortinux are extremely easy and almost 100% hatch rate, the bobwhite are little more tricky they seem to want to commit suicide. i bought a dual thermometer and humidity gauge for a tenner on ebay (BUY NOW) price. It works just a well as the very expensive Brinsea one. there is a useful little book by Kate Thear which is very useful. I also have been given different suggestions about humidity, i found putting no water at al in the incubator very successful with quail and adding water at the pipping stage for partridg
  7. i would like to buy live rabbits to stock my shoot up if anybody can help, South Wales area
