  2. Two mature brothers require pest control permission, both very experienced, safe and insured. Rats, doves, rabbits, pigeons etc anything required Please send me an email countywidetreeco@aol.com or pm me on this site Many thanks Roller
  3. I used to go pigeon shooting years ago with my step father, farmers loved us pigeon shooters back then 25 years ago. I mentioned to my local butcher [a keen shotgun man] that I might get back into pigeons, he said you'll be lucky to get a free shoot these days, nearly all pigeon shoots cost, is this true? I can't imagine paying to shoot pigeons......
  4. Hi do we have and Yak fishermen on here from the Felixstowe area, I've been thinking of starting a local club, pm me if interested..
  5. What do the majority of you hunters do, when hunting rabbits, sit in a hide or stalk?
  6. Ok guys i'm no H&S expert , but I do run my own company, and deal with risk assesments day in day out [we're tree surgeons] JohnB if I send a copy to you could you post it where relevent, thanks. As Deker rightly says , on site risk assesments are exactly that, I have heard them called 'site specific risk assesments' before. what I will do is knock up two copys, one will be blank the other filled in ie a fictional shoot, i've seen lots of risk assesments over the years and tailor make mine to fit different circumstances. If you see something on my blank risk assesment feel free to
  7. Has anyone heard of this make? I bought a 4x40 scope for my HW99s, the scope was around £30 [that included mounts] and to be honest I don't like it at all, it seems to loose focus/zeroing every time I put the bloody gun down and i'm guessing every time I take a shot? Could anyone reccomend a good scope for this rifle thats under £90, thanks and the less technical the scope the better
  8. Thanks for clearing that up guys
  9. are you at all familliar to 'on site risk assesments' of any kind ? if not i'll draft a copy and Email it to you, you'll have to alter or fill in what applys to you, and your surroundings though, shouldn't be that hard, are you insured? that will be a must if they're asking for a risk assesment.
  10. How or where do you get aqua lungs re-filled?
  11. I know very little about precharged air rifles, I was wondering if they can somehow be filled up with air via a compressor? I'd like a precharged, but get put off by the idea of using a hand pump [which i've heard can take up to an hour to fill a rifle] and i haven't got a clue about the costs involved using a divers bottle, the mere thought of a divers bottle sounds like a huge expence, can anyone put me straight thanks
  12. My mate has a pigeon loft don't mention cats to him, poxy things cr@p all in your garden , kill song birds by the million , I hate the things, the only cat I like is a cat on a farm, a good rat and mouse killer!
  13. you boys are convincing me to move to Australia, been thinking about a while now, reading this thread makes me want to go even more so! Millet where abouts in OZ are you? I lived on the central coast for a good while, i'm married to and Aussie girl..
  14. Travellers and others I might add are stealing a lot of dogs thats for sure, they don't care where they get them from, or what breed they are, any old mut will make £100 these days sold in the free adds etc The dogs you fellas have are very vulnerable, unlike house dogs my guess is you boys with working dogs keep them outside in a kennel its much eaier i'd think to rob a dog from your garden than break into your house, be carefull who you show a litter too or talk about your dogs too, travellers and theives don't walk about with a sign on their heads saying gypsy or theif! crooks tend to
  15. Guys will I be safe in Thetford forest, I hear they have a few red squirals, will they attack me? how can I defend myself and my 'ex boy scout lahsa apso' are we legally allowed spud guns in the forest? I had to laugh, when that chris wrote ''i'm getting increasingly frustrated''
  16. Cheers for telling me what I already knew, SteveieP.......
  17. I'm going to get a Deben light , just don't know which model to get for my hw99s a stinger, Atom , or mini.... Saying that those little surefire lights that F Jager mentioned look good..
  18. I was thinking the same i've got a 07 Pathfinder, and only get 26-27 at best Back to the Navarra, way too exprnsive imo, I sold what i'd consider the cleanest fully loaded 54 plate navara in the country last year for 9k plus vat
  19. I'm pretty new to air rifle shooting, i'd like a few views on this gun, I recently bought one for pest control, namely rabbits,.Now i'm not a small bloke by far, but i'm finding this gun a bit on the heavy side, and i'm getting much more barrel sway when aiming than I did when I was a kid with my old BSA meteor. Could this just be down to lack of recent shooting practice? I always thought I was a pretty good shot. Another question, what are the best times of day to hunt rabbits, dawn and dusk?
  20. Thanks for the feed back guys, SJM thats the kind of lamp i'm after, does anyone have any recommendations?
  21. Are those little battery lights you can get fitted on scopes any good when night time rabbit shooting? if not what are they for?
