Hi I'm not a breeder or a trainer but recently rescued a wheaten lurcher. He is a beauty. I've rescued several sighthounds so I know about the bred and prey drive etc. My question is are they trained to chase and hold? He's great with other family dogs if a bit excitable but when it gets too much he puts a paw on the small dog and holds it. Is this a common request of these dogs if trained to hunt? Unfortunately he recently got past my husband and when he caught up with him he had found a small fluffy and was holding it. The dog was unharmed (although probably traumatised) He is never off lead
