hi sean. i have a young patterdale that is coming a long leaps and bounds with the ratting and flushing and catching rabbits. as for fox, i can only comment on some of my mates pats that are on fox and that is that once they go down that path there is no going back. i have watched these dogs grow form pups and they were just like mine (JD) is but after having that first fox the turned on all things with 4 legs inc other terriers.

hi, new to this site as well. i have a patterdale who is seven months old, he had his first rat by accident at 12 weeks old. i shot one with and air rifle and disabled its back legs. it let of a scream and JD shot off after it. he went over to sniff it but the rat bit him on the leg and he then yep and dispatched it. but from then on he was wherery of and live or dead rat that we saw round the farms. at 4 months old i used to take him shooting with the air rifle and any rabbits that was not a strigt clean kill he would run up to them and finish the rabbit off. but at six months old all hi
