Moved to Cornwall to work as professional terrierman & kennel man to the Tetcott Hunt when I was 19 for a few seasons then came back to Derbyshire and worked as amateur terrierman for a few local packs-did a bit with Paul Hudson at the South Nott's & Wally Wyld at the Grove & Rufford & with "John Sooty" at the Belvoir-travelled the country year in & year out with Brian Nuttall working with most of the packs in the country as well as a couple of mink hound packs-travelled with him to Germany & Belgium digging badgers where it's legal-worked down Shropshire Gamekeeping on the pristine Stokes Head/Norton Castle Estate & did a bit of just about every country sport going until all the pins & screws put in my back when I broke it finally gave way and my spine collapsed and left me just about useless.The one thing I would have loved to do was work my terriers to otters but was born to late for that-we did go out with the otterhound packs in Ireland but had no luck-Brian was lucky enough to work as full time terrierman to otter hound packs in the Lake District & Shropshire and part time to about 4 others round the country-so you can say I've had my fair share of experience and I've never heard of anyone who's been digging or shooting etc. etc. with me to have anything bad to say about me -thank you friends.
