  1. Thanks mate. My first choice is deerhound cross but needs and the current situation will dictate what we get. Deerness kennels round my neck of the woods is normally full to capacity, they have one, the bitch I'm going to see tomorrow.

Once covid is over what's going to happen to all the rescue dogs when the new owners aren't working from home and have to put on a leader after a long day at the office.

  2. Mature spayed deerhound cross wanted as companion to my 10yr old cookslands cross. Dogs trust demand you jump through hoops so can't be arsed. My dog was castrated at 2yr when I got him, to stop any thieves in their tracks so I can't breed anyway, which I don't want to do anyway as me and my wife wouldn't part with them.

I repeat, spayed as I don't want to breed. There was some highly insulting pre conceived comments on my first post, which was quiet upsetting!!

The original poster,Cookland is a kc line of piss poor Deerhounds, you will have some that will attempt to make a name for a deerhound turd with a specific kc monicur, always because they own and sell such, for a monetary value that is higher at the shoulder than their work worthless mutt. The Deerhound offers far more to a working lurcher than anything else but a Collie,IMO,ive never yet to see a lurcher that offers as much, yet the vast majority of Deerhounds are about as much use as limp prick in a brothel, its a penis,it looks like a penis ,its useful to piss out of but not up to the job it was designed for.The only decent Deerhounds are mongrels many generations bred away from Kc.

I am the original poster mate. I don't want a Kc Deerhound. I want a deerhound cross, as my post states. My dog is a cookslands deerhound/greyhound Cross and he is mint. I want similar as a pack member.

  4. Hi I don't hunt with dogs but don't have views against it, each to their own. I've joined simply to try and find a bitch to be a companion to my cookslands deerhound greyhound. Im 56 and I've had long dogs since I was 20, my first a ardkinglass deerhound. I soon learnt the gene pool is so small there was loads of breed problems so since my first have gone for crosses. My dogs go up the Highlands on holliay at least 6 times a year. They are exercised properly and my wife and I devote every hour to them. I need a quiet bitch, good with other dogs, rough coated, preferably blonde but nature is more important. Deerhound cross with no bull in bloodline. Please help, my boy is miserable. Tel 07498284934. Cheers
