  1. Ok il give him a try, will probably work him out hunting first though just so he can work alongside experienced dogs.

  3. What is the largest terrier that could be worked to ground? The reason i ask is i've inhereted a fairly large terrier and am unsure whether he'll be ok for ground work
  4. would be better putting into a gunsmith to sort. Im more interested in selling it now, and as i don't really do any air rifle shooting these days it makes more sense to get rid of it
  5. I have an early BSA superten for sale with a stirrup pump. I am selling as there is a problem with the rifle and it is not firing properly, when the bolt is pulled back and forwards to fire, the gun does not fire but instead releases a charge of air when the bolt is lifted back up. Up until this happened it was a very nice rifle to shoot and has accounted for hundreds of rabbits. The gun worked superbly up until i took the stock off to give it a proper clean and it hasnt been right since, not knowing a lot about working on air rifles I have decided to leave it sat in the corner.   6. Go for both, .22 for close range bunnies, hmr for long range rabbits and the OCCASIONAL fox ( cant get a hmr in this area for just fox)
  7. its always good to hear about people going out for a mooch with a ferret and a couple of nets and just enjoying being outside, to many people are obsessed with number. I know how you ferret is an individual thing but i was always taught when layin a net to tuck the bottom ring into the hole so that the rabbit stands on the net then runs into it

Ive had similar trouble a couple of times out ferreting until one day a friend said find a heavily thorned thick bramble and put that dwn the hole an give it a bit of a scratch around, may sound a bit daft but i tried it one morning after a long wait and it worked. The same trick can slso work if a ferret has killed a rabbit just out of arms reach if you can get the bramble to tangle in the rabbits fur

  11. I am relatively new to this forum but am hoping you will be able to help. We have a 14month old liver and white GSP bitch that went missing on the 4th November around 6o'clock from the Honiton/Dunkeswell area of Devon. She is largely liver with a flecked bib and lower legs. Shes of a fairly timid temperment and easily spooked by guns. She is micro-chipped.   16. ive always set my pegs 8yards apart, i use 7 pegs for a 50yd net. Hazel sticks should b cut around march time and left to season for approx 6 months.
  17. we havent had much at all around most of out premissions, but there has been one farm where every other rabbit has mixy and another farm where theres a couple, nothing to worry about to much yet though, lets hope it doesnt spread though.
