I honestly don't think he would stand up to some real heavy work that's my honest opinion on you dog

???? I presume your talking about the pic of the dog above your post !!

may I ask how you come by that statement from a picture ( no pun intended)

but it’s hard to gauge size and make up of a dog from a photo with nothing by the dog to show the size etc

and size although an advantage in certain places ( hindrance in others) doesn’t make the dog

the heart and the drive counts for far more

none of this can be ascertained from a photo ( not even a good photo )

unless you have personal experience with the dog in question!!!!

Agreed. That’s why the nut is included on the shaft’s thread - it can be tightened down onto the ferrule to prevent turn.

It’d be very straight forward to drill through and insert a bolt with a wingnut.

It’s all good what I can see

just adding comment  through experience using such tool

they tend to wear and turn off set or turn as your digging with thread

I’ve got couple and still use

but best I’ve had even though it’s bit and only bit of pain is with the pin going through

“small screw and wing but that low down you won’t catch your hand

    let’s face it

realistically if you’ve got to conceal it in a bag youl put up with any thing

but that’s the nature of the game

thanks to mo Ike phones etc ?

    looks smart any how ?

Everything lols good but with experience with screw thread it will turn

better off with. Connection similar but where slips in

and you have screw with wing nut drilled through

not that much methier to put together

    and won’t turn with wear

after loosing my border dog 3yrs ago ive had to more or less start again, i have 2 borders out of the same litter, i was going to put my old dog over the bitch but it all went pear shaped, i went out and used a dog that has seen one years hunt work , his father had seen six years hunt work, my bitch has only bolted  afew,  so to get to the point, we are looking to rehome 3 border dog pups, they have been jagged  wormed  ect,  so if anyone wants to try a border dog please get in touch, all were asking for is a permanent working home, not to be sold on or passed around. the dog we have started working end of last season, these pups will be good all rounders if interested let us know, not into borders for money just the work and there company.

Well done ! If all the border terrier owner thought like this the breed wouldn’t be so in decline if not extinct in parts of the country as a worker

Used to always be a lakey called Tyson at stud I think, . Never here of all of them 'great lookers ", and names no more. Just like alot of the aftermath of them was honestly rubbish workers in the real world

Tyson was a border with the foxfinn prefex pabs around 2000? ,couple of lads I know had a lining from him, dug to a few from him, some good some bad. Atb dc
It was always at stud and winning shows down country £100 fee to cover ya bitch.never seen it but I know a few who did and said he was a tiny little thing.
he threw pups of a handy size, bitches were small and narrow, the dogs could be rough and didn't learn discretion, can't remember any making old bones if I'm honest.they were all gone after a few yrs lads back to the black dogs. Atb dc
When I was doing a lot of digging with my borders and I won plenty of shows to there was a few lads told me about how small Tyson was and it was winning everything down country.i liked the look of him in the shooting news but didn't know if the lad worked him,but the lads I knew who had seen him said mine was a better size and stamp so I never bothered to go and check him over.i got to the stage mine was getting to hard for there own good so only getting 5 digs a season because of the straight they were getting in plus they were mute on the dogs but the bitches mixed and bayed spot on.i was going to go out with jeff felaroni until he passed away when he came up to my place as I gave him a good deerhoundxgreyhound bitch to run with his dog.
How are the borders doing now! You still got them
