Boys and girls. In the end, I'm going to get the dog that I like and fate gives me. That's the way it works with dogs, just like husbands. Although it doesn't matter so much with husbands because they don't last (Live? woo hoo!) as long. And you know, i'm tempted by the saluki because i think they are just like me - Georgeous, expensive, fussy, noble, aloof. And very, very fast! Anyway, on a more serious note,I'm grateful for all the input. i've got lots more questions, like breaking to stock etc. I've had three pm's about litters coming up, and i'm really pleased by that result and i

im sure she laughing her bollocks off at this lot Know what - i'm doing my absolute best to laugh with you not at you. Because that's the sort of person I am ( no disrespect to the people who think I'm a creepy man who wants to get into your precious panties/a fur mummy/ an anti/ a communist mutant super-hacker invader from outer space!) Why the slashes? Perhaps you are all of the above at the same time. Absolutely. multiple personality syndrome. The Fur Mummy From Hell has totally lost it and she's out to get you!

Just when you think you've got out, they drag you back in! Thanks FSH, that's good advice. Problem is I need a dog soon. Not having a dog is like missing an arm. Think I may go for the Saluki option and then breed my perfect dog out of her when I know a bit more about what I'm doing. I love what i'm finding out about salukis, although not mainly from this site as i've been having to deal with rather different subjects on here! Now I really must go or i'll be up all night talking what a lot of people on this site obviously think is nonsense> that's the problem with laptops. you get into bed,

Look babies, I'm a member on here now. So get used to it. And it seems like the mods actually welcome new people and want to give them a chance - weird but true. I am not a troll of any kind. I am not pretending to be someone I am not. If you don't like me, block me. From now on, I'm going to report every single person who calls me a troll. Check out the guidelines about abusive posting. Good night to all the nice guys. See you again. xx

Actually, my last dog WAS a deer hound cross! That's how I got interested in lurchers. I got her from a man on the West Coast of Ireland even if theres an irish man on here that doesn't believe that! She was whippet x GH x Deerhound, that her picture on my profile pic (bit small I know - but having trouble uploading others) and I had to put her down two weeks ago. God really must get out of here - just popped back to pick up a personal message and guess what? It wasn't an insult!

nice dogs, Lurcherman. And now, before I sign out, I think there's some people on here that might need MY advice and one of them is YOU Seanie baby. Let me explain to you how the internet works: how ever much you abuse any new member that dares to raise their head on here, there is no way you can guarantee that there are no 'antis' lurking on here trying to catch you out. So put on your intelligence panties and don't post any location specifics and don't post any pictures of your self doing anything, you know, illegal, like skinning live animals with a butter knife which is what you proba

No Lurcherman. That's YOUR dog. now over and out. I'm logging off. Enjoy yourselves teenagers.

And if I was really an anti hunt activist putting up some massive masquerade, don't you thing I'd have got round to asking some question about something more dodgy than just what type of dog to get by now? Get over yourselves.

She's just lurcher to lurcher for many generations, and there is only a dash of Saluki in there. She's lovely

And from now on i'm just going to ignore all this ignorant haters, whose wrath I have done nothing at all to deserve, and only reply to the decent people on here. And I'm glad to say there are quite a lot of them.

if you look at my profile picture you'll see a picture of my Sul. And if YOU want to name your dog 'kiss my arse' you go right ahead. I would even give YOU a name like kiss my arse.

Double like

sorry mate - not sure that's any of your business. xx

Sky cat - i've been on those sites and I know that there are too many nondescript lurchers out there. That why i'm looking for something with really good lines that working dog people will recognise and really good looks that non working homes will like. I didn't breed Sulya for that reason - Because I didn't work her when she was young she didn't have her own working reputation and ireland is awash with lurchers. Hence my thinking about a full bred Saluki from good parentage. I'd quite like to make my own cross. And I now live in London and I used to be stopped every day by people admiring Su

Hi Good Morning I am a newbie here as well so I've also been asking a load of questions but have I have found some great help and advice. My lurcher (Merlin) is a resuced dog. I've had him for three days and he is round two years old. He is saluki mix although what the mix is we are not sure but the saluki is apparent in his head. I will start by saying that a pure bred saluki is berd to hunt gazelle over long distance, so speed and more stamina than some long dogs. In regards to intelligence I can only speak of Merlin and he has already picked up retrieve in two days although there could hav

thanks for that - great advice.

Perhaps it would be a good idea if I started going to some game fairs or lurcher shows and started talking to people whose dog I like the look of IRL - what do you all think? Anything good on in august that you can recommend? And also don't just want to rock up on my own so if any women members - that means not you, Bobza lol! - on this site have plans to go to a good event and wouldn't mind me tagging along it would be great. Obviously South East England is best for me, but I realise the South East is not the greatest working dog part of the country so I suppose I could go further afield....
