    Bit late to this topic but anyway... I learned a good method of drawing wild birds by accident. This method will probably seem obvious to most but might be useful to someone. I set up a small moveable breeding pen for a cock and a couple of hen pheasants ( during breeding season) in my garden . Within a couple of days a wild cock appeared, trying to fight the penned cock through the fence. I immediately set up a feeder in my garden becide the pen and scattered a hand full of barley & chick crumb under the feeder. The wild cock was feeding from it the next morning and a few days later he

    Interesting Comanche. The reason I wanted to hatch under a bantam was to try get the mothering/broody instinct into birds so that hopefully after a few generations they might sit themselves. I have had bobwhites sit themselves but not realisably enough to bring eggs to hatch.

    Cheers. Can I also ask at what age can I put poults into the same pen as adult birds? I have the adults in a breeding pen at the moment and was going to put the poults in this pen also if possible when they become strong enough ? Then use this pen as the sole release pen in November .. Advice appreciated.

    Hi all, I have no dog at present and want to change that. Now like most I work and would be gone for a large part of the day leaving the dog/dogs on its/their own. Would it be better to get two pups instead of one so they would have company? I would not be getting two litter mates and would be getting two different breeds. I am aware that it is easier to train one pup on its own but I'm just looking for some input from those that may have experience in the area.. Thanks
