I still have a few videos from the past game season to make, time is seriously limited to edit these days. Anyway , this one is from Boxing Day 2017 on our syndicate, a lovely sunny day out in lovely surroundings. Thanks for watching as always

This video has some quality shots, but undoubtedly my favourite shot of the year which was a high hen bird about 50 yards high. To be honest I couldn't believe I brought it down. During the same video I nearly had a cock bird take the head of me and one really distant crow which you can tell in the video with the lead I gave it.

Thanks for watching lads

This video from the start of December was filmed in the pursuit of the greatest game bird of them all. Quite a wintery day with snow, hail & strong wind, but ended up with a decent bag of birds. I hope you all enjoy

Below is my latest video from the pheasant syndicate. Videoed over a couple of days during end of November/Start of December. There is also an appearance from a pod of porpoises which were only about 50 yards out into the sea. Hope you all enjoy.

Haven't been on a lot recently as I moved into a new house and have no internet yet.
Anyway I made this video a couple of weeks ago and only got round to posting it. Footage from a couple of early days out on our syndicate. I was a little annoyed as some of the footage of my dog working hard was ruined by a drip on the camera. Loads more videos to follow when the internet gets installed.

Not hard at all when you're actually supposed to be shooting & decoying crows
I don't go to a field with the intention of shooting crows or pigeons. Both are vermin, so I'll gladly shoot both given the opportunity.
This farm has a chip factory on it and the feral pigeons congregate around the factory sheds. They fly between this farm & another farm I have permission on and both farmers have asked me to shoot ferals around their sheds.

He states there feral and some them birds were shot at a good range 30+ how do you know them feral weren't the high birds shot.my old man is a well known pigeon fancier and I shoot not far from where he flies his birds so I don't really like shooting feral in case there racers but at 25 yards coming in quick to a decoy then sory but if your saying you can jump up and see if a bird is wearing a ring at 25 yards your eyesight is amazing.ive been watching my dads birds come in after races and most the time I carnt tel the difference between his and the mans behind him until there on the landing board
Yes you are quite right I shouldn't have to justify myself on the video, I stated they are ferals so why should anyone doubt me.

They fly in a straight line at a rapid rate of knots without any other thought other than getting home.,If a shooter can't tell the difference between a fluttering feral, a woodpigeon or a racer than perhaps he/she shouldn't be shooting. Just my humble opinion mind you and I've been among racers for a lot of years. Jok.
Thanks another person with common sense that can tell the difference between a feral & racer.

Jok hit the nail on the head with what he said. Number one rule before taking any shot no matter what the quarry..."IF IN DOUBT DON'T TAKE THE SHOT" ! .....Simple as
.
My title reads that because it was a red letter day at crows. I was hardly going to put the title as "crow shooting red letter day with ferals, magpie & a handful of woodies". If I was in doubt what the birds were I wouldn't take the shots, as I stated in one of my other comments this farm is full of ferals.

Thanks fella.

do you shoot with both eyes open Ollie ,. I've started to try shooting that ways, but can't hit a barn door , lol
atb mate
I honestly can't tell you if I shoot with both eyes open or not, it's just natural so I don't consciously open both or close one.

My best mates father has raced pigeons all his life told me before that racing pigeons do not decoy into fields, they fly on a straight course back home normally at a decent height. I can assure you all the birds were ferals.

Only getting round to making this video now from the end of September. I had a day on barley stubble shooting corvids and had a great day passing 3 figures. Birds decoyed lovely and I shot decent also with lots of doubles as you'll see in the video.
It was also memorable due to the amount of Grey Crows I managed to shoot in the process.

Great shooting yet again Ollie , really would not expect anything else from a top bloke with a great eye
Atb mate
Thanks David

We have had a serious problem with corvids taking the pheasant feed. They have been difficult to decoy but for some reason this particular day they decoyed quite well. Ended up with a respectable bag of birds and a decent bit of sport:

I went out about a month ago with a mate who had recently bought a Winchester SX4. It was a typical Irish day with sunny spells mixed in with heavy showers. The crows & ferals pigeons decoyed pretty steady in the morning but tailed off in the early afternoon.
Ended up with a decent bag of birds despite some of the poor shooting and a new gun well christened.

I am out again on a winter barley stubble in Northern Ireland shooting pigeons & crows. We had 2 hides set up in this farm, myself in one hide and my father & his mate in the other. We had a pretty good day with a bag in excess of 100 birds and some challenging shooting. Thanks for watching as always and lads keep the videos coming

Great shooting Ollie
Love the crows when they flair like that , they kind of know there feced , lol
What camera have you got stuck to your head mate ?
Atb
Cheers everyone. It's a SJ4000 on a gopro headmount. I'll hopefully upgrade to a gopro soon.
Nice going mate , its deceptive watching the crows fly over the hide they look so slow
Some of the crow shots were in slow motion so maybe that is why.

Hi all,
Been very quiet recently on here, building a house at the moment so haven't had much time for shooting. Got out a couple of times over the past month or so and bagged a few birds on camera, here is the latest instalment. A short outing for a couple of hours on a Friday afternoon on fresh cut silage after corvids and another outing on pigeons on standing barley. I'll hopefully get a bit more time in the next few weeks to get some shooting done during harvest.
Thanks for watching

I had forgotten about this footage from December & January of some Rough Shooting here in Ireland.
Most of the action is after Woodcock & Snipe with my cocker spaniel Dinky. There is also a couple of roost shooting clips. The season seems a long time ago now, looking forward to some decoying now in the spring & summer.
